My New Hair!

Hello lovelies! ♥
On Saturday, I've been to the hairdresser with my grandma and I thought, why not try something completely new?
So I told the hairdresser to do exactly that!
I was actually planning on showing her a picture of Ashley Benson because she's just gorgeous, duh and I love her hairstyle but I thought I should let a professional do her work since she knows what's best for my hair and - just as important - what really suits my skin tone!

As you can tell by the photo above, she dyed my hair a very light brown shade but not too light and I still really like it - it does look a little different in real life though! I'm just trying my best to describe it for you... hehe

Also, she cut off about five inches of my hair which I thought would be a little too much as well but I looove it!
I felt really flattered when almost everyone in the room complemented how well the new hair colour suits my face, especially with my dark brown eyes... *blushing emoji* I was so happy afterwards!

I hope that this is also a great new way to start school on Thursday this week, because I want to show that I've changed over the past couple of weeks. I'm also trying to find my own style in clothing, and as for now I think I'm on a good way to reach my goal by the end of the year because I exactly know what I want - I just need to save some money to buy new clothes...

But yeah, this was it for a little post about my new hair, which I'm obsessed with!
Do I look okay with it though? I'd love to hear your thoughts! :-)

What's your dream-hairstyle that you'd like to get?

Love,

BOOK REVIEW | All The Bright Places

Hello everyone! ♥
I was in the mood of writing a book review about one of my favourite books that I've read so far this year: All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven.
I bought this after I'd watched a video by Zoella where she mentioned this and I think it even was a monthly favourites video!

The novel is about Theodore Finch whose life is just all over the place, until he meets a girl named Violet Markey up on the bell tower of their high school. He talks her down from jumping off the tower but everyone thinks that it was the other way round because 'Finch' is just another suicidal 'Freak' in school. But Violet knows that he's different and when they're being paired up for an U.S. Geography project which includes to find special places in Indiana, they build up a great friendship, soon ending in a real love relationship between those two.

Theodore attends counseling sessions in school and talks about his suicidal thoughts.
Violet tries to fight the urge to give herself the fault of killing her sister; she drove the car in which her sister died over a year ago.
But when they know that they can't live with each other anymore, their lifes change for the better.

Well, that's what you first think when you start this book...

Theo and Violet find a beautiful place with a lake that counts as one of their special places of Indiana. However, Theodore has found interest in trying to hold his breath as long as his lungs are willing to let him stay alive; which will also be the cause of this death at the very end of this book.

One day, Theo just disappears without telling anyone where he went. He just leaves confusing messages to his friends and family; but most importantly to Violet. Of course she wants to find out where her boyfriend went. So she makes her way to find him.
But the Theodore Finch that's found in the lake by a search and rescue team, isn't the one that she's hoped to find... She's hoped to find her beloved boyfriend alive, not dead because he probably drowned.

This has been of the most emotional but also beautiful books that I've ever read! I really liked the style of writing, although I didn't like the ending as much because I've just cried so much while reading the last chapters!
It really is a mixture of The Fault In Our Stars and the story of All The Bright Places itself.

It reminded me a lot of Hazel and Augustus...

I can only recommend this book to everyone who's currently looking for a beautifully written novel!

What are you currently reading?

What's In My Makeup Bag?

Hello lovelies!

I have been wanting to write this post for so long and now I finally got the time to actually write and publish it!

I must say that I'm pretty proud of the photos, too :-)

As you can read by the title, I'm going to tell you a little more about my makeup bag and what's inside!

So first things first, the makeup bag. Mine is the 'Just Say Yes' bag from Zoella Beauty which I ordered from feelunique a couple months back and it cost about 12€.

Now on to the fun part: The makeup!

A couple of days ago, I blogged about five of my everyday makeup things so I didn't want to mention them in this one again. However, I do use some other products on a regular basis as well:

- tweezers, because we want the brows to look nice and shaped
- makeup brushes: BH Cosmetics powder brush, angled shadow brush and the brow and lash spooly; Real Techniques Buffing Brush
- beauty blender *more a cheaper drugstore version*

As an addition to my everyday makeup, I sometimes add a tint of lipgloss - I only own two lipglosses, which are both from Tanya Burr Cosmetics, along with a lipliner from Stagecolor.
A setting spray can't be missed when you're having a long day, so for that I'm using one by Alverde (which is a German drugstore brand).
I also like to use an extra product for my brows which would be the Catrice Eyebrow Filler Perfecting & Shaping Gel. And - along with the Catrice eyebrow pencil - this is by far the best combination that I have ever used to get my brows look nice and somewhat natural!

As you can probably tell, I love Catrice Cosmetics and I just generally like all of their products because I haven't been disappointed by them (yet)!

What is your favourite makeup brand?

Mini H&M Clothing Haul

Hello! ♥
So I was shopping recently. Not that much of a surprise, right?

I went into H&M and I knew what I wanted to buy although I didn't really know if they had exactly that! So I went on a little stroll through the shop until I finally found the two pieces of clothing that I was desperately looking for!

I really wanted to get a white - navy blue striped shirt, and bingo, I found one for 7.99€! :-)

The second - and final - item that I was looking for were some dungarees!

Legend has it that there are only a few childhood photos without me having my dungarees on...

These were 29.99€ but I really wanted them so I bought them and left the shop as a happy woman! What else could I have asked for that day?!

On the first photo though you can see the outfit that I combined these two items together! I think it's really cute, especially with white sneakers and a red bandana on!
Love it! ♥

Have you got some clothes in your closet that remind you of your childhood?

Victoria's Secret 'Aqua Kiss' Bodyspray

Hello lovelies! ♥

Victoria's Secret has been a brand the kept catching my eye whenever I was scrolling through photos of beauty bloggers on Instagram!
However, my Mum - I still thank her for that! - bought the bodyspray 'Aqua Kiss' for me when we went shopping a little while ago!

I really wish that you all could smell this right now because it just smells gorgeous

The scent is very fresh and it has helped me a lot during this summer! I'm often using it for a quick refreshment when it just gets too hot in my room; which is quite frequently.

The bottle says that the bodyspray smells like 'rain-kissed freesia & daisy'. I'm being honest here with you guys... I have no clue what freesias smell like, but I don't really care either because all I know is that I love the scent of them!

Well, I love the scent of the bodyspray itself, but that's about the same, isn't it?

Going into just some couple basic facts about this gem... This bottle contains 250ml and cost 9.95€, which I would have never ever spent for a bottle of bodyspray!

But this was really worth my Mum's money! thehe

Have you tried any Victoria's Secret bodysprays yet?

5 Things: Everyday Makeup

Hello! ♥

The moment this post will be published and ready for you all to read, I'm already in Austria with my cousin and her parents! *WHOOP*
And I will have probably watched another few episodes of Pretty Little Liars while going there because I'm obsessed with that show lately! *heart eyes emoji*

But today I'm going to blog about some basic everyday makeup items of mine!

Maybelline Baby Skin Pore Minimizer
I reviewed this little favourite of mine a couple of posts ago - here - and I still really REALLY love it! However, after using this primer almost every day while doing my makeup, I don't even want to try the Benefit one anymore because this one is just brilliant!

Catrice Liquid Camouflage Concealer
This, my dear friends, is one miracle of a concealer, I tell you! The little sticker on the packaging says waterproof - which it definitely is - and promises high coverage; it keeps both promises and works wonders on the dark circles under my eyes and on the acne (scars) that I've got on my nose! I'm head over heels for this one!

*I seem to fall in love with lots of my makeup products, don't I?*

Catrice Eyebrow Stylist
Again, another amazing makeup item that I've only recently discovered while shopping! Normally, I had used the Maybelline Expression Eyebrow Liner - until I stumbled upon this one and in my opinion, it is just as good! Maybe even a little better...

Catrice Transparent Mattifying Powder
After I had almost given up on my search for a transparent face powder, I finally found the perfect one for me! However, this one was just available as a limited edition item... *sad emoji* I really hope they will take this powder into the standard collection though! Because on my skin, it works real wonders!

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara
I even prefer this mascara over the Benefit Roller Lash! It is - hands down - my favourite now! It is way cheaper though it has the exact same effect on my lashes! And I'm really loving it!

What are your five everyday makeup items?

Love,
Melanie x

P.S. While writing this, the Y-key on my keyboard sprung out of its clip multiple times... If that makes any sense lol

Summer Travel Essentials

Hello! ♥
If you're following me on Twitter then you probably know that I'm going to Austria this week on Friday and to Berlin afterwards! *so excited!*
And due to that I thought, why not write a little blog post about my (summer) travel essentials?

Actually, those are the essentials that I'd bring with me wherever I'm going, no matter if it's summer or winter. But these are just some items that belong in my handbag - or, in this case, in my little drawstring backpack that I (again) ordered on Amazon for about 4€.

As you can see, I tried my best not to overpack my bag since I'll be travelling by train this time and I can tell you, my suitcase is so freaking heavy that I just don't want any other, heavy bag to have to carry around with me!

In my bag I packed:
- my favourite body spray 'Aqua Kiss' from Victoria's Secret
- a refreshing setting spray so I can spritz it on my face whenever I'm in need of some refreshment
- money
- my sunglasses - which I absolutely adore!
- my glasses because I'm as blind as a bat (not really but I still need them lol)
- chewing gum
- a good book - or two
- powder and a powder brush *just in case*
- my camera (I am not bringing the one on the photo with me, I just needed something to represent my Nikon there ^-^)
- my favourite lip gloss at the moment - Tanya Burr 'I found Nemo'
- a concealer for touch-ups
- Carmex (or any other lip balm)
- my headphones
- and last but not least my phone

I also take snacks and a bottle of water with me since I'll be travelling for a good six hours - and I can't go without something to eat for six hours!!

I would have loved to blog about what's in my suitcase, but when I tried to take pictures of it, I failed miserably...
But, I'll be going to Paris in October this year and maybe then I'm able to take some good shots of my things to show you :-)

What are your (summer) travel essentials, that you can't go without?

Sleek 'Au Naturel' Eyeshadow Palette

Hello lovelies! ♥

On this fine Friday I want to blog about another favourite of mine: The Sleek Au Naturel Eyeshadow Palette. I ordered it on Amazon a couple of months ago for 9.99€ which is a great price for such an amazing makeup item!

Sleek has been one of my most favourite makeup brands ever since I ordered this palette! They have amazing contour kits and other beauty products as well and they're all worth the money - from what I've heard! I just own this beauty yet I'm quite content with it and I would always go back to their shop site and order the things I need because they're really inexpensive as well!

This palette mostly contains matt eyeshadows but also some shimmery ones - like Taupe, Conker and Mineral Earth. If you read my review of the W7 'In The Nude' Palette then you know that I do only wear light eyeshadow colours on my eye and yes, I am still experimenting with the other ones... haha

All the colours are very pigmented but they tend to wear off with time, which also can't be controlled by using a primer - at least that's what happens to me.
But all in all, this is such an amazing makeup item that also comes in various other colour schemes - I might actually order another one soon! :-)
I would highly recommend this to everyone who's looking for a nice and also very travel-friendly-sized *is that even a word?* eyeshadow palette!

This was it already for this week... It's just soo warm that there are no words left that I could write *wipes sweat from forehead* Anyways, have a lovely weekend and make sure to answer the question down below! ♥

Have you ever tried a product by Sleek? If so, what do you think about the products and the brand itself?

Zoella Beauty Tutti Fruity Product Review

Hello! ♥

I've recently made another feelunique order and this time I purchased some of the lovely products from Zoella's new Tutti Fruity range!
I've been most excited ever since she first announced another range!! *heart eyes emoji*

Last week I finally made my purchase and after a couple days of waiting, I was able to hold these beauties in my hands! I think I've never been this excited before... So I opened the package and - I'm not gonna lie - the first thing I did was to take photos of these products before I'd open and try them for the first time!

However, I bought the Scrubbing Me Softly Smoothing Body Scrub (9.87€), the Candy Cream Softening Body Lotion (7.05€) and the Foam Sweet Foam Cleansing Shower Gel (4.94€). Also, I got a 5€ discount entering a code that was available on the feelunique website during that time - yay!

As you can probably tell by the images above, I tried really hard to make the photos look somewhat pretty - and I think they're okay. But can we just take a moment and talk about how stunningly beautiful Cara Delevingne is?! *another heart eyes emoji*

Anyway, in one of her videos Zoe mentioned that the products to this Tutti Fruity range just smell very fruity - like blueberry and acai, if I remember that right.
And to be completely honest, I had no clue what acai berries smell like... haha

But after smelling all three of these, I was in love - I fell for this scent, head over heels.
And mentioning my Mum once more, she loves this just as much as I do and I think I have to set up an extra feelunique account because she suddenly got really into all that beauty stuff you can buy on there. Well, I like how I can finally talk with my Mum about such things as beauty whatsoever.

Back to the original intent of this post: reviewing these little favourites of mine to give you an idea of what they are like.

First, there is the (sugar) body scrub, which is a lot better for sensitive skin as sugar isn't as harsh as salt.

I don't have to say anything about the scent of these again, do I?

Secondly, we have the body lotion which is - hands down - my favourite! There are little pink bubbles (these are also in the body scrub) that burst when you rub the lotion in and ahh, it smells amaaazing. Sometimes I put some lotion on so I can simply just smell it... Is that weird? haha

And last but definitely not least you can see the shower gel which makes my skin sooo very soft - just like the lotion and the scrub do as well. It's also so shiny and it's really pretty when you just look at it!

I would have never ever thought that these would become my all time favourites - lotion-, body scrub- and shower gel-wise! All three products are so worth the money and I highly recommend them :-)

Thank you for reading and, before you go, have you tried anything from Zoella's Tutti Fruity range yet? Let me know in the comments below!

Love,
Melanie x
