Taking a Break

I never really thought about taking a longer break from blogging but lately I just don't feel inspired enough to actually write something interesting and I'm not happy with the posts I'm publishing. So I thought it would just be the best to take a break from everything and enjoy life a little more.

I'm yet not sure how long this break will be because I don't want to start blogging again too soon, otherwise the break wouldn't have made any sense whatsoever.

I hope you understand this decision and I can tell you that it was definitely not an easy one because blogging has become an essential part of my life but for the time being, I don't feel like it's as much fun as it used to be...

May there be loads of inspiration and motivation to come and I really hope you understand x

Spotify Playlists

Music is an essential for me when it comes to blogging, doing my homework or when I'm just chilling in my room and trying to relax. And for almost every occasion I do have a separate playlist on Spotify.

Most of the time I'm just browsing through different profiles like Filtr Germany or something similar, until I find a playlist of my liking and I will just start playing it until I've had enough of it :-P
But sometimes, though, I actually do create the one or other list myself, including songs that I'm just really loving at the moment.

So there are a couple playlists that I listen to whenever I'm feeling...
(Titles written in italic are German)

Oh My Love - The Score
Shut Up And Dance - WALK THE MOON
All Yours - Ben Haenow
Boys Like You - Who Is Fancy feat. Meghan Trainor & Ariana Grande
Ain't Too Cool - Lunchmoney Lewis
Love Myself - Hailee Steinfeld

7 Years - Lukas Graham
Over And Over Again - Nathan Sykes feat. Ariana Grande
Jealous - Labrinth
Young And Beautiful - Lana Del Rey
Oft Gefragt - AnnenMayKantereit love:
All of Me - John Legend
Fight Song - Rachel Platten
You & I - One Direction
Ein Apriltag am Elbstrand - Kenay
Oh Love - Mark Forster

I would love to create more lists like this so comment some songs down below that you really like at the moment! Also, make sure to follow me on Spotify: melaniie5sos! :-) x

Beauty Table Snippets

I finally had the time and the motivation to get out my camera and actually take some decent pictures of the table I always do my makeup on. It's been a post idea of mine ever since I started blogging but I never felt comfortable enough to publish images of my room on the internet.
However, I feel like these couple shots won't hurt anyone and I apologise if they don't look very professional - I'm just glad I got this up on time! :-)

As for the table itself, it's the Malm Dressing Table from Ikea and it's yet again a thing I would have never come across if it wasn't for all the bloggers out there raving about this table!
On top of that I have quite a big mirror so I can do my makeup properly and my lamp. There's also some decor and my jewellery on that table because I like keeping it there and it also looks very pretty - in my opinion.

I keep most of my makeup on my table rather than in the drawer - in there I just keep random stuff, like hair ties, eyeshadow palettes, etc. The containers inside the drawer are from Ikea as well, they're the Antonius containers.
As for the acryllic drawer system you see on the table, it is from Amazon (here) and it's so handy to store all my basic makeup bits in.

And yes, that's an aquarium right next to my beauty table because my room is just too small to put it anywhere else... Yep, that is a thing that has to be mentioned here! :-P

I will definitely go into more detail when I've moved house next year after school because then I hope to have a lot more space for all my furniture to show up nicely on my images. Maybe there will be a video as well... I'm not sure about that yet, though.

How do you store your makeup? x

Highend Beauty Wishlist

Image credit to the rightful owners!
I thought it is yet time for another beauty wishlist, this time featuring some of the more pricey products that I've been lusting over lately.

Starting right away with an item that's an all time blogger favourite, in my opinion, the Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation is definitely something that I would love to try - once I actually have enough money to afford it!

Secondly, I want to mention the Charlotte Tilbury Eyeshadow Quads. They are beautiful, aren't they? I mean, there are so many different shades and palettes that it's quite a challenge to pick just one of them...

Next on my list, there are the NARS Satin Lip Pencils. Again, there are so many various shades and colours that I would probably collect all of them - oops. I think I do have a serious problem with lip products haha :-)

Speaking of lip products, the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Miss Kensington is definitely a lipstick that I would wear on a daily basis! If I was able to spend 30€ on a freaking lipstick!

And last but not least, there's the item that I had already mentioned in my last Highend Beauty Wishlist a few months ago but it's also the item that I would be most happy about to have in my collection. The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette has six different shades of blusher and highlighter and it's right up my street, so I think I might actually invest in this beauty this year.

Tell me about your highend beauty favourites! x

The Envy Blowdry Set

When it comes to my hair I really like to try new shampoos and conditioners every once in a while, so I was more than pleased when I was able to try out The Envy Blowdry Set*, it comes with a hair treatment, a cleansing shampoo and a detangling conditioner.

To start off with the smell of this: it's amazing. I think it smells fresh and very much like lemon or citrus and I really like it! Washing my hair has just become so much more refreshing with this :-)

As for the treatment, you can use this on dry hair as well as on wet hair - which I much prefer - before shampooing.
However, the shampoo is by far my favourite from this set! It makes my hair so soft and shiny! And whenever I'm using the conditioner afterwards, my hair looks like I've just come back from the hairdresser. It's amazing and I'm not just saying that, it really stunned me the first time I used this and of course I'm still impressed!

This set has definitely become part of my go-to haircare routine and I'm so not looking forward to the day when I'll run out of these! :-(

Have you heard of Envy Professional before? x

Beauty Essentials

We all have that one bag into which we just like to throw our everyday makeup and beauty essentials, am I right? Well if not, I know that I am one of those people at the moment. I just like to keep everything important together in one little bag so it's easier to reach whenever I want or have to do my makeup!

But now on to the essentials....

Of course there is a foundation and two concealers in my bag. The foundation I'm using at the moment is the L'Oreal Perfect Match Foundation in 2.C Rose Vanilla and it's - hands down - the best foundation I have ever used. I probably say this about every makeup I start using and that I am fond of right away but this time I really am satisfied with the shade and the texture as well! It also makes my skin look flawless which is always a plus!

And to match my foundation I also just recently purchased the L'Oreal True Match Concealer in 2 Vanilla. I honestly thought this wouldn't be the perfect shade for me because it looked a bit too dark when I swatched it at the counter but I am absolutely content with how it covers every spot and imperfection I have!
For my dark under-eye circles I love to use the Maybelline Age Rewind Eraser Eye Concealer in 03 Fair. This is just the perfect concealer (and shade) to cover up the dark circles under my eyes and it instantly brightens up that area; love it!

To set my makeup in place I still use the Rimmel Stay Matte Long Lasting Pressed Powder in 001 Transparent, because it's just my Holy Grail when it comes to face powders.

For contouring and also for bronzing I like to use the Catrice Cosmetics Prime And Fine Professional Contouring Palette in 010 Ashy Radiance. It's a lovely cool toned brown that perfect for my skin tone!
I don't really use the highlighter that comes with this palette, though, because the ever so popular Mary Lou-Manizer by theBalm has still got its very special place in my heart. It's just stunning me every single time I apply this to my cheekbones; such a beautiful highlight!

After all of the parts above, I go on to my brows, and lately I've been using the Catrice Cosmetics Eyebrow Filler Perfecting & Shaping Gel for filling them in and bringing them in shape.

Sometimes, when I feel like applying a bit more makeup than usual, I like to use the Catrice Cosmetics Absolute Rose Eyeshadow Palette to add some colour to my eyelids. Same goes for my lips: if I feel like wearing lipstick I looove to apply MACs Twig!

And last but not least, I apply a few coats of my beloved Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara. It's just an amazing mascara that I absolutely adore and still totally recommend!

That was it for my beauty essentials! :-) I hope you enjoyed!
But for the very end of this post I want to mention to you the new Beauty Section at Farfetch, including all kinds of luxury beauty products! And to give you an idea of what they have in stock you can find a little wishlist of mine down below....
All these products I would label as 'blogger recommendations' because let's face the truth here... We've seen 4/5 of these on other blogs or YouTube channels before, haven't we? haha :-)
Nevertheless, I still am lusting over these five products in particular:

Have a look at their Beauty Section and let me know what your favourites are! x

March Goals

I don't know why but I really like putting these pictures of my pets in my goals posts! And this, my dear friends, is my dog Kimba, and I love him very much. Just thought I'd let you know haha :-)

As for the month of March I don't have many (new) goals and the ones I have are almost identical to the ones I had last month.

When this post goes live it's less than a day for me until I have my test for the Certificate in Advanced English and I am soo nervous! All I want is to pass and to get my certificate; that'd be a dream come true!

Also, I want to learn a lot more during my therapy because I think that it will help me a lot more than I originally thought it would; I have the feeling that I always say this, though. Also, my therapist is just the nicest person I have ever talked to!

Furthermore, I want to improve my grades in school - who wouldn't want that, ha? But I basically want to get a lot better in every subject to finally achieve my 'end of year goal' this time.

Well yeah, I am determined that this month is going to be a lot better than the previous two because Easter break is just around the corner and two weeks off never hurt anyone, have they? I'm also going back to Berlin for about a week then and my cousin and I have got sooo many things planned; I think we'ver never planned that much before! :-)

What are your goals for this coming month? x
