How To Find The Perfect Gift For Fashion Lovers

As someone who's fashion mad, I know what it's like when someone gives you a gift that's not to your tastes, shall we say. Of course, for every gift I get I'm always very grateful, but there are some presents I like more than others. This means that when I'm picking a present for another fashion lover, I always like to make sure that I get it spot on. Whether it's a birthday or Christmas present, or just a little something to brighten their day, I like to make sure I get it right.

To do this, I've come up with a few easy to follow steps that make picking a present for a fashion lover much, much easier. In case you struggle with gifts for your fashion-loving sister or friend, I thought I would share my top tips with you.

Make a list of where she shops
The first step is to make a list of where she shops. This is important as this will help you to work out what type of things she'd like and appreciate and what gifts wouldn't be well suited for her. Every shop has a certain style, which is why it's worth taking into account the places where your friend, sister, cousin, etc. likes to shop. That way you can make it much easier for yourself to find her a gift that you know she'll love.

Take her style into account
The next step is to take her style into account. This is important, as if you fail to do this, it's impossible to choose a gift that she'll love. Look at how she dresses as well as how she decorates her home - this will give you an idea of what type of style she likes. You most probably already know her style, but if you don't, take the time to work out what it is - this will make it much easier to find a gift that she loves.

Opt for accessories over clothes
No matter how well you know her, unless she's mentioned that she wants a certain item of clothing, stick to accessories. Shoes, bags, scarves, jewellery, etc. are all much better choices than clothing. Don't just look in the shops for gifts for her, take a look online too. There are some amazing fashion-related gifts out there. Such as handbags with built-in phone chargers and all sorts of other amazing accessories. If you want a little inspiration, check out Cuckooland's unique gifts ideas for her. There are also plenty of other online sites where you can find inspiration; it's just a case of looking around for them.

Find cute, quirky things she'll adore
The best way to ensure that the gift you get her is loved, is to find cute, unique things that she may not have seen before. If you buy her a scarf similar to one she's already got, she might like it, but it won't be something she's super excited about. However, if you pick her something she's never see before, like fashion headphones, she's more likely to be excited about them.

If you want to pick the perfect gift for the fashion crazy girls in your life, take the above tips and tricks on board.

Let me know what you think about these tips! :-)

Woman Cave Challenge

If I had the chance to decorate a room in this house the way I wanted, it would probably look like the girliest room you'll ever see!

Together with Chairish, I've come up with a few ideas that I would really like my Woman Cave to look like! And, just to mention it, I think if I should ever own a house, this is what my room will look like! :-P

First things first, rosegold, white, marble and pastel pink would definitely be the number one colours/patterns in that room. I'm not too sure why but there's something about this combination of colours/patterns that's just very satisfying haha It looks so put together and classy, too, I love it!

Of course, there would be lots of decoration, flowers, candles, plants, cushions, etc. I would even love to have a hanging chair because, let's be honest, these things are blimmin' cool!!

Since I don't drink alcohol, I think I would store a few liquors on a cute bar cart for when my friends come over to have a girls night in! :-) And of course the ingredients for my beloved virgin mojito haha

As you can tell, I imagine my Woman Cave to be girly but classy and just plain fabulous, with inspiring quotes on the walls, eye-catching decoration and an overall great atmosphere!

To have a room like this in my house, would be a real dream come true, oh my gosh! *heart eyes emoji*

Let me know how you would design your Woman Cave! :-)

5 Things: Beauty Products To Make At Home

A relaxing day at the spa or the latest beauty treatment can often seem like the perfect way to pamper yourself. There are many treatments that are popular with celebrities, as seen on But if you want to try and replicate these indulgent treats yourself, here are a few tips on how to get that luxurious glow from the comfort of your own home!

Body Scrub
Salt or sugar scrubs are very easy to make, and make your skin feel so soft! They're great to use all year round; as exfoliating before the summer months ensures you're glowing, while combatting central heating-induced dry skin in the winter. They can be pretty expensive to buy, but so cheap to make yourself. For a simple, but delicious, sugar scrub mix 3 parts sugar with 1 part olive oil and add a few drops of your favourite aromatic essential oil or leave unscented. Scrub it all over in the shower, focusing on  your elbows and knees.

Rose Water
Rose water can be used as a face toner, to bathe in, and even to cook with. Its anti-inflammatory properties and beautiful scent make it popular, but quite expensive. It can be made at home so easily though, and for a fraction of the price! Simmer organic rose petals in distilled water for 20-30 minutes (until the petals lose their colour), then remove the petals and allow the liquid to cool. Once it is at room teperature, it is ready to use! It can be used for quite a while if you store it in the fridge.

Face Mask
There are so many crazy facials and skin treatments that celebrities indulge in now, all promising wild results. But surely the best products for your delicate skin are made up of natural clean ingredients. Face masks are easy to make at home, and there are lots of recipes available depending on what your skin type is. Apple Cider Vinegar is a really effective skin toner, for example. Mix equal parts vinegar with water, apply to your skin and leave to dry. It will leave your face feeling cleansed and refreshed.

Conditioning Hair Mask
Hair masks are another beauty product which are easily made at home, with a great variety of possibilities. Coconut oil is a miracle ingredient when it comes to the beauty world. It moisturises deep into each strand of hair, giving you healthy and shiny locks. Take a generous chunk and melt it by rubbing it in your hands, apply to your hair and leave for at least an hour. Make sure you wash it all off thoroughly though and be aware that it can stain clothing!

Body Lotion
Keeping your skin moisturised can get pretty tedious and getting through all those bottles of shop-bought lotion can be pricey. But you can easily make your own in different flavours, allowing you to choose a different scent on different days. There are plenty of recipes online, but coconut, mint and lavender are all firm favourites.

What do you think of these DIY beauty product ideas? :-)

How To Find New Beauty Products To Try

I don't know about you, but sometimes I do tend to get a little bored of my beauty regime. Using the same products day in and day out can start to make you yearn for new products to try out. Not because you're unhappy with what you currently use, just because it's fun to test out new products now and then.

Obviously, when you've already got a fantastic selection of products to use, it seems wasteful to randomly buy new ones to try out. The thing is, it doesn't have to be. Want to know how you can find new products that you love, without going on a major beauty product haul? I've gotten a little creative and come up with a few ideas for you.

Read reviews of products before you buy
If there's a product that you've been dying to add to your beauty regime, before you invest in it, read up. Take the time to read reviews of the product from your favourite beauty bloggers. So that you can get an idea of whether it's right for you. Look for reviews that are written by people with the same skin type as you, as this will give you a better idea of how a product will work with your skin.

Make you own soaps, face creams and scrubs
How about getting creative and making your own products? You can find plent of recipes for homemade products at Real Simple.
The great thing about making your own products is that you get to choose what goes into them. You pick the ingredients and the scents, you can tailor your products to your skin type and needs. There are plenty of ideas for DIY beauty products online. Such as on this website, www.Beauty Product, so you shouldn't be short of ideas.

Get testers to try out
Most beauty brands offer testers, so if you're craving new products to try, using testers is a great option. Head over to your local department store or beauty store and get testers of products that you fancy trying out. From face masks to makeup, most brands offer testers, at least most high-end brands do. It might not be as good as having a whole new product, but it's a great option as it lets you try before you buy.

Become a beauty blogger
If you're beauty product crazy and like the idea of reviewing products, why not start a beauty blog? Blogging is a fantastic hobby as it's a great way to meet new people and make new friends. Plus, if you build up a good reputation, you can collaborate with a range of brands to get free beauty products to test and review. For beauty addicts, beauty blogging is a fantastic pastime. Simply because it's a great opportunity to work with brands and test and review new products for others to have a look at how the products they're interested in really work.

So there you have it, the best way to find new beauty products to try. If you're yearning for some new products to try but don't want to go crazy on a massive beauty haul, the ideas above could be perfect for you :-)

Virgin Mojito Recipe

Photo credit belongs to their rightful owner!
The one drink I've really been loving this summer is a good ice-cold Virgin Mojito, yum! As you may or may not know, I don't drink alcohol at all so I've googled some cocktail recipes without alcohol in them and this sounded really delicious!

Down below you can find that exact recipe! :-)

- one glass full of crushed ice
- one cut lime
- 8 sprigs of mint
- 1 teaspoon of brown sugar
- 1/4 glass of apple juice
- 1/2 glass of lemonade (Sprite)

I always just put all the ingredients in a glass and mix them, to be honest haha :-P But most of the time I start with the brown sugar and add the apple juice afterwards.

Then I add the lemonade - Sprite -, six of the sprigs of mint and the lime. And last but not least, I add the crushed ice, put a straw in it as well and decorate with the last two sprigs of mint I've got left.

And that's basically it! It's just so very easy, I'm sure you can do it! :-) Let me know if you tried this!

Quick & Easy No-Heat Hairstyles

If you'd rather wear your hair loose or in a cute but simple hairdo, but would like to attempt some of the latest hairstyling trends, then don't worry! With a bit of practice and the right tools, getting the perfect style is possible. Check out these three pretty easy hairstyles I've really been loving lately!

The first style is the Gibson Girl Roll. This is a lovely soft look that you can either do as a simple updo or vintage it up a little by backcombing the front.

To do the basic style, wash your hair the day before, so the natural oils are coming through. Then turn your head upside down and spray your hair with hairspray. Then use a comb to backcomb your hair and slightly pull at the ends, so you get a lot of volume. Then turn your head the right way up and gently smooth the hair on top with a brush, without losing the volume! Starting from the right side, wrap a section around your finger and pin in place with a bobby pin. Continue doing this all the way along, until all of the back of your hair is in a roll.

To vary the look, use a headband like the ones they sell in Primark and wrap the hair around that and pin in place.

Another retro look that is super popular at the moment are the Victory Rolls and they're also super easy to create!

To get this style, section your hair along your parting. Then again backcomb your hair and don't forget to fix everything with hairspray! Smooth the top of your hair carefully. Now take a section from the right side and use a curling wand to create the 'roll'. Hold it in place for a couple seconds, let go and pin it to your head in a roll so it stays put, then repeat on the other side. Bobby pins will flatten the rolls so I suggest using other hair clips instead.

If these are proving to be a bit of a struggle, there are lots of tutorials on YouTube that you can use to get a better look at the hairstyle or you can get some specialist victory roll curlers from

Another thing that looks great is to have soft curls flowing down your back with the victory rolls on the top of your head. To get this look you can as well use some extensions to create more volume or you can even visit an extension salon to get them applied professionally.

Lastly, a really cute and easy style I've come across are no-heat waves! This is brilliant if you want to get that beachy look, but your hair is a bit damaged from over styling whatsoever.

It works best on damp hair. Apply a curl spray, then grab small sections of hair and twist it. Once they start to twist back on themselves pin or clip them to your head using bobby pins or other hair clips. Then wrap in a cloth to sleep in a let your hair dry naturally. Untwist and run your fingers through your curls and fix with hairspray. Do not brush through them as this will make them go fuzzy!

Let me know if you liked this post and if you want to try these hairstyles! :-)

Maybelline Fit Me! Matte + Poreless Foundation

A few months ago, I had signed up for a free sample of a new foundation that Maybelline was about to release and I was beyond excited to try a new foundation! After the sample was empty - and I had been more than pleased with it - I went into about five or six different drugstores until I finally found this foundation: the Maybelline Fit Me! Matte and Poreless Foundation

It is a very lightweight foundation with a light to medium coverage and formulated for normal to oily skin. I would also say that this is more suitable for skin tones with a yellow undertone. For me, the shade 105 Natural Ivory is perfect. At first, I thought it would be way too dark even though it is the lightest out of the six shades they have, but it turned out to be a perfect match for my skin tone!

I really like applying it with my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush because it really allows me to work the foundation into my skin and blend it all over my face and also down my neck.

Both the foundation and the brush have been my absolute favourite when it comes to face products lately! Really recommending this combination!

Have you tried this foundation yet? Let me know what you think about it!
