Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation: First Impression

Adding a few more photos to my posts lately, hope you don't mind! :-)
In my recent Boots & Superdrug Haul, I mentioned the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation and I did try it a few days after I bought it, up until now so I can do a first impression post on this foundation!
I know that this foundation is quite popular among bloggers so of course I wanted to try this as well!

First of all I want to mention the consistency of this foundation. It's the smoothest and most lightweight foundation I've ever owned! It's so smooth to apply - especially with one of my beloved Real Techniques brushes - and sometimes I even forget that I'm wearing foundation! hahah :-P

The shade 052 Vanilla is also a perfect match for my skin tone, which I am still very happy about because I was having a look at this foundation on the internet for quite some time and never knew which shade to pick.

The price for this gem of a foundation is at about £11, which is a fair price for such a good product!

All in all, I think this was definitely worth the purchase. The consistency is amazing and it's perfect for everyday application, plus, it smells incredible!

I would really recommend this to everyone who's looking for a new foundation!

Autumn Yankee Candle Haul

In Inverness, in Scotland, there was a Yankee Candle shop and of course I couldn't resist to go inside and buy a few candles for myself...
I only bought three of the small ones and all of them are quite autumnal scented because I was looking for something more suitable for Autumn and maybe even for Christmas already.

All of the scents - Cinnamon Sticks, Mandarin Cranberry and Spiced Orange - smell incredible and are perfect for this season. They also remind me a lot of Christmas time which is amazing, because you know I love Christmas and the months of October, November and December are just my favourite! So scented candles that remind me of that time before it even started are the best!

At the moment, I'm also in the process of decorating my room for the new season because I was feeling more like Autumn the past few weeks due to the changes in weather, etc. And for me, candles are an essential part of decoration because they create a special atmosphere, in my opinion so I was more than happy to find that shop in Inverness!

What are your favourite Yankee Candle scents? :-) Let me know in the comments down below so I can try out many more!

MaxFactor Eyebrow Pencil

First things first, I love how it's finally Autumn! The weather is just so much nicer in that time of year and I feel much better, to be honest! Also, I've been practising a little with some new decor bits and my new softbox; I hope you like the change of style! I've really been putting a lot more effort into my blog lately - or at least I've been trying to - and I hope you all like and appreciate it! :-)

Now, on to the actual topic of today's post: the MaxFactor Eyebrow Pencil, which I also featured in my August Favourites, because it just deserves to be mentioned twice on this blog, ha!

Before I purchased this, I was just using a brow gel to fill in my brows because I'm quite lazy most of the time when it comes to doing my makeup for school. However, when I saw this in the shop the other day, I was more than surprised. It was only about 4€, I think, and it's the perfect shade for my brows (01 Ebony). It's a wooden pencil but the tip is very smooth and is very easy and comfortable to use.

A little aspect to criticise, though, is that when you press down just a bit too hard with the pencil, your brows will look so bold and fake, it's just not nice anymore! haha
So you need to be quite careful and just use this softly and you're good to go!

I'm also planning on purchasing a few more MaxFactor products in the near future because the value for money is just amazing and the variety of products is huge!

Have you ever tried anything from MaxFactor? :-)

Boots & Superdrug Haul

First few photos with my softbox, yay!
Definitely a lot better with the marble background and the lighting!
As you may or may not know I've been to Inverness and Edinburgh in Scotland a few weeks ago and of course I had to treat myself to some UK beauty bits and bobs. This haul, though, is not quite as big as I thought it would be haha I quite pulled myself together not to spend too much money on makeup, but instead I spent it on chocolate and sweets! :-P

In Inverness, I went into Superdrug and Boots for the very first time and I was actually so happy to finally be able to buy all the products from the makeup brands that aren't available here in Germany!

Rimmel | Well, I bought the most products from Rimmel because I already owned a few products of them and loved them! I decided to pick up the Stay Matte Long Lasting Pressed Powder in 001 Transparent because that face powder is just the best. Next up, I picked up the Match Perfection Foundation in 120 Ivory, the Brow This Way Styling Gel in Clear, the Volume Colourist Mascara, the Exaggerate Lip Liner in 024 Red Diva and the Kate Sculpting & Highlighting Kit in 002 Coral Glow. So excited to try all of these additions to my makeup collection!

Bourjois | For this brand the only two products that had been on my makeup wishlist were the Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation in 052 Vanilla and the Radiance Reveal Concealer in 001 Ivory and gladly I found both of them in Boots which I was more than happy about!

Collection & DUO | The last two items are the Collection Lasting Perfection in 01 Fair and the DUO Striplash Adhesive in White/Clear. Both of them are definitely a bloggers favourite so of course I had to get them as well haha

Do you have any of these products? If so, how do you like them?

The Real Techniques Core Collection

It's all about the brushes, duh!

The lovely Real Techniques Core Collection had been waiting on my Amazon wishlist for quite some time until it was reduced from about 20€ down to 10.99€ so obviously I had to get it, duh. After buing it, I read that Real Techniques changed their packaging, etc. of the collections and some even said the quality has become reall bad but I was still excited to try the brushes of course!

So the collection includes the Contour Brush, the Pointed Foundation Brush, the Concealer Brush and the Buffing Brush.
Personally, I love to use the Contour and the Buffing Brush because they fit perfectly into my current makeup routine but I also like to use the other two brushes of course!

The quality of the brushes hasn't changed at all and they're still as great as I was expecting. I do own the Expert Face Brush as well and I was satisfied with it ever since I first started using it but this set is just every brush you need in one case so it's great for travelling as well!

However, I don't really like the quality of the case because it just doesn't look really pretty. I don't know why, but I just don't like the look of it.

Owning this collection has definitely made me think about getting a few more Real Techniques brushes! Really love everything about them and I can definitely look past that case! :-P

August Favourites

It's favourites time!

It's definitely been a while since I last uploaded a favourites post! Although I'm still not happy with the lighting of my photography, I kond of like the set up of my photos so I decided to finally invest in a soft box which will hopefully help me get those shots to make my blog look professional and... amazing! :-P

Anyways, in the month of August I've come to like quite a few bits and bobs but I cut it down to only a few beauty bits in today's post. Otherwise, this would have been a ten pages essay no one would want to read! haha

Starting with my new favourite brush for applying foundation: the Real Techniques Buffing Brush. I've already owned the RT Expert Face Brush but I must admit that it definitely does not work as good as the Buffing Brush, in my opinion. Great quality, great price and so worth mentioning it in this favourites post!

Continuing with three makeup items, I've fell back in love with the Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara. It's still amaaazing and makes my lashes look so voluminous and thick, it's insane!
The other makeup item is the MaxFactor Eyebrow Pencil in 01 Ebony. I was actually just looking for a new eyebrow pencil in general and this cost about 4€, I think, so I just picked it up. Turns out to be a perfect match for my hair colour and the best eyebrow pencil I've ever used! Full review coming soon!
And for the third item I picked the Essence All About Matt! Fixing Compact Powder which is just a transparent face powder to prevent my skin from looking oily. And especially during those hot days this summer, I was too thankful to have this with me!

I would lie if I said that I don't love basically every product Zoella releases, but with the Sweet Inspirations range I'm just head over heels and utterly in love! Especially with the body mist! I use it every single day and I fear the day when I run out of it...! :-(

Next up, there is the Guhl Föhn Lotion, for your hair before blow-drying it. It made its way onto my bathroom shelf the day I picked up the eyebrow pencil, ha. And ever since then my hair thanks me everytime for buying it, I believe! It looks so much shinier and healthier, I'm so very glad I picked this up!

And last but not least I want to mention the Eylure Texture Lashes in No. 117. These are my first pair of false lashes and when I tried to put them on for the first time I was a little worried that I would never ever get these things in place. But to my surprise, it wasn't that hard! And since then I looove wearing them! They just look so natural and lovely when applied!

What are your August favourites? x

My Current Haircare Routine

Trust me when I tell you that I'm currently trying my very best to get my blog back to its regular posting schedule and frequency but at the moment it's just not possible for me to update regularly. I'm still trying though! I'm also planning some bigger changes regarding my blog and everything that's connected to it, but I will update you with that in another post soon! :-)

Anyway, in today's post I want to share my current haircare routine with you guys! It definitely took me a good amount of time to actually get into a routine when it comes to my hair since I've been through a lot of hairstyles and colours in the past few years!

At the moment I'm more than happy with my hair - colour, style and length - and I really want to take more care of it. That's why I'm using the Bed Head by TIGI Fully Loaded Massive Volume Shampoo* and the matching Fully Loaded Volumizing Conditioning Jelly* every other day to wash my hair. It gives my hair such great volume that I was actually surprised after I've used it a couple of times!
You know there are lots of shampoos and conditioners out there which promise voluminous and strong hair, but trust me, this range doesn't only promise volume and strength, it's actually working!

So after shampooing, conditioning and rinsing my hair, I always let it air-dry for as long as I do my makeup and get ready for school. When I'm done, I use the Guhl Föhn Lotion to protect my hair from the heat of the blow-dryer, which I use afterwards to dry the last few damp strands of hair. This also adds even more volume to my hair and I feel like blow-drying it after using the Fully Loaded range gives it an extra boost and just makes it look fantastic, if I may say so myself!

What do you think? Do you want a head full of volume and give this range a try? :-)
Let me know! x
