Brand Focus: Essence

There are lots of different beauty brands out there and it's actually quite hard to find the one for you, in my opinion. When I began to actually use makeup, Essence was my number one brand on the high street! The shelves always looked so pretty and inviting and I really had tons of their products!
However, the products in the photo above are almost all the products I own from Essence these days, and as you can tell, there aren't that many!

Essence is one of the cheaper high street brands and packaging-wise they're pretty much designed for younger girls, just starting out with makeup, in my opinion! I do like their products, but I wouldn't necessarily say that they're my favourite.

The products I like the most from Essence are definitely their lipsticks/lip oils. They last very well and have a great colour pay-off, so you really can't go wrong with purchasing one of those!

For their face and eye products, I only like the All About Matt! Fixing Compact Powder and the Forbidden Volume Rebel Mascara. I've tried quite a few foundations, concealers, etc. but I was never really satisfied with those.

Both the Get Picture Ready Eyeshadow Palette and the Get Picture Ready Contour Palette still need to be tried out a bit more but so far I really like them as well!

Essence also do perfumes but most of them smell quite sweet and almost a bit overpowering but I assume that younger girls do really like those scents! I'm now at the age of liking more feminine and adult perfumes like Black Opium or Ma Vie, if that makes any sense, ha!

The products I like the least are definitely their nail varnishes! I don't know if it's my lacking skills in keeping the colour on my nails or if it's just the nail varnish in general, but they don't really satisfy me at all! Other nail products, like top and base coats for example, are great and they're definitely the ones I'm reaching for the most!

As you can tell, Essence is definitely a brand worth trying, either when you're just starting out with makeup or when you're looking for some cheap but basic and still good beauty products.

What do you think about Essence? Have you tried anything from them yet? x

Hand Cream Favourites

I've been working almost every day for the past one and a half weeks and my hands do look like crap after that! That's why I thought I would share two of my favourite hand creams with you that will make your hands soft and gentle once again!

The first one is the Crema Mani Seta* which I already mentioned on my blog a couple of times before. It smells incredible, almost like clean laundry or something, and the pump this come with is so useful as well!
I always pump this twice into my hand and just rub it in. This cream sinks in very quickly and leaves your hands feeling incredibly soft! Really love it!
The only disadvantage about this, though, is the bottle the cream comes in. It's quite heavy itself and you can't really tell when you'll run out of the product, so it's a little surprise how long this is actually going to last for!

The second one is the Sante Happiness Hand Cream. This smells exactly like orange flavoured chocolate and I love it sooo much! I instantly fell in love after using it for the first time! Again, this sinks into the skin very quickly, smells freaking amazing and leaves you with incredibly soft paws! This hand cream also comes in a very well sized tube which is perfect for throwing in your handbag!

Which hand creams do you enjoy using? x

Makeup Starter Kit

Makeup. If you're new to the world of makeup then you will surely be overwhelmed by how many products there are to choose from! When I first started using makeup, I told my mum to help me and get me the mascara she thought would be best. So she got me the Maybelline Volum' Express The Colossal Mascara and of course, as a newbie in the world of beauty products, I was head over heels in love with it!

Being a beauty Blogger for about two years now, I know there's loads of different products out there to try and possibly fall in love with! That's why I put together a few of my favourite high street products for a Makeup Starter Kit!

For the base products, I chose the Maybelline Fit Me! Matte + Poreless Foundation, the Catrice Cosmetics Liquid Camouflage High Coverage Concealer and the Essence All About Matt! Fixing Compact Powder. All three of these are definitely some of my favourite products and great for every makeup starter kit!
For contour/bronzer, blush and highlighter, I decided to go for the Rimmel Kate Sculpting and Highlighting Kit, which is basically everything you need all in one!
The last product is a bit more expensive but definitely worth it! It's the Artdeco 3 in 1 Makeup Fixing Spray*, which I would highly recommend for a starter kit!

For the eyes, I decided to only put a mascara into the bag. The chosen product is the Essence Forbidden Volume Rebel Mascara, which is such an amazing mascara for little money!

For the brows, I went for the Essence Make Me Brow Eyebrow Gel Mascara and the Rimmel Brow This Way Brow Sculpting Kit. Both of these are some of my go-to products for filling in my eyebrows!

The NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams are also my favourite liquid lipsticks and I think they're perfect for everyone just starting out with makeup and lip products! These are easy to apply, last very well and they smell delicious!

Here, I only put in two tools, which is not only a pair of tweezers but also a beauty blender. Both of them are quite important things to have in your makeup bag and they should definitely be used from the very start!

Would you add anything to this edition of a makeup starter kit? x

Favourite Bloggers & YouTubers

Photo credits belong to rightful owners!
It's been quite a while, I think, since I have done a post about my favourite Bloggers and YouTubers, so I thought it's just about the right time to update you all on who are my favourites and whose videos and/or blogs I like to have a look at the most!

Victoria is just one of the nicest and loveliest people ever! Her videos and her blog posts are definitely a thing I'm looking forward to every single week because they inspire me a lot and always motivate me to keep blogging!

Jasmine Talks Beauty
Jasmine's posts are amazing! Along with great and useful texts, the photos she's putting in her posts are gorgeous! I wish I was as good at photography as her... *sigh* But seriously, you should go check out her blog! You won't regret it for sure!

Very Berry Cosmo
Another great blog with lovely images, great content and an author that I would love to meet in person and have a nice chat with! haha
Like seriously, every blogger out there always seems so nice and lovely, I really just want to meet all of you!

Not much of a surprise, eh? Well, what can I say? I've been following Zoe for about five years now I believe and I never get bored of her videos or her blog posts! Like I already mentioned probably a million times on this blog, Zoe is the one who inspired me to start the whole blogging thing in the first place! It may sound a little exaggerated but I'm so glad that I discovered her on YouTube and I definitely don't know what I would do without her as a person and her videos!

Lauren Curtis
She's just the cutest person ever! I love her videos, her dog is just too cute and her makeup looks are always on point! There's actually nothing more I can add to that! Just have a look yourself!

Mrs Bella
She's a German YouTuber and I was actually quite sad when I didn't meet her at the GLOW in Berlin at the beginning of this month because to me, she's my 'German version' of Zoella. Not because of her videos or anything, but because of how she's inspired me with her videos and her online personality. Just a lovely young woman, making great videos!

Mark Ferris
I've actually been watching Mark's videos since before he became friends with Zoe and I was even more excited when I noticed that they were becoming such great friends! His videos are just my favourite and every time he's with Zoe, my week is made!

Manny MUA
In all honesty, the thought of guys doing makeup was a bit weird to me at first. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying anything against that at all, but it was just a little weird to me. Now, however, it's one of my most favourite things to watch! Manny, for example, is just such a great guy and his makeup looks are on fleek every single time! Like, I would actually do a lot - not everything, but a lot - to be able to do my makeup like him! Definitely go check out his channel!

Wunderfrollein Glow Set Review

In collaboration with Blogger Club DE!
Wunderfrollein is a German cosmetic brand that I hadn't heard of before, but when I received my first Blogger Club DE Box last month, this lovely Glow Set was included along with lots of other amazing products for which there will be reviews coming soon as well!

In this set, there are eight different skincare products, including a cleansing foam, a face mist, two face creams (day and night), a face mask, an eye cream, a cleanser and a serum (left to right in the photo).
And may I just say that the packaging is quite simple but still so cute?! I really love all the pink details! They also have the cutest names that skincare products could have! I mean, even the cleanser, which is a powder that you mix with a few drops of water before you put it on your face, is called Stardust! I think these details make this set even more special!

I do use all of these products regularly, except for the daily face cream. Although it has SPF 15, which was a huge plus from me at first, I don't like that it's almost like a tinted moisturiser that makes my skin look really orange and cakey! Just don't like that at all!

My absolute favourites are the night cream, the eye cream and the cleansing foam, though! They smell incredible and are great for my skin, making it soft and somewhat glowy! The other products are great as well and I would basically recommend all of them!

As these are not the full-sized products, I'm about to run out of these and although I do like them quite a lot, I don't think I will repurchase them. The full-sized bottle of the face cream, for example, costs about €47, which, for a face cream, is definitely not in my budget!

All in all, it's a great set which includes basically everything that you need for your daily/weekly skincare routine, but sadly, it's a little bit on the pricier side!

What do you think about this Wunderfrollein Glow Set? x

πŸŽ… Merry Christmas! - BLOGMAS DAY 24 πŸŽ…

Merry Christmas everyone!

Yes, I'm wishing you a merry Christmas on the day of Christmas Eve because my family and I are already celebrating today and tomorrow we're away with the rest of our family and some friends, so I thought it would only be right to wish you a happy day with great food, thoughtful and lovely presents and I hope you all have a great time with your loved ones, no matter whether or how you celebrate Christmas today or tomorrow! :)

This post also means that it's already the end of Blogmas, which I'm quite sad about because I kind of got used to the daily posting... Maybe I'll change up my schedule for next year regarding my posts, but there's still some time to think about that!

Like I already said, merry Christmas, happy holidays and have a lovely few days! xx

πŸŽ… New Year's Resolutions - BLOGMAS DAY 23 πŸŽ…

"Christmas is not as much about opening our presents as opening our hearts."
- J. L. W. Brooks

You know the drill when it comes to the time after Christmas but before New Year's Eve... Everyone makes resolutions for themselves to achieve and continue throughout the new year! And I'm actually one of those people who really try to achieve what they want to achieve. That's why I think it's even more important to write them down and be able to always have a quick look at what you want to achieve, even if they're just a few smaller things, they're still goals and you still want to do your best to achieve them! :)
I know resolutions may be defined as the things you want to begin with from the very first day of the new year, but I thought I could as well put my 2017-goals in here for you to have a little look at and maybe even figure out what you want to do next year! Athought I don't have many, I really want to make the best of what I want to try and make a difference in next year so hopefully it will work out!

Down below, you can find my goals for the new year of 2017...

  • Overthink less often - definitely not easy, but worth the try
  • Try to accept, appreciate and love myself the way I am
  • Enjoy the little things in life
  • Make sure to slay at my A-level exams!
  • Try not to plan everything years ahead and enjoy every single day on its own instead

πŸŽ… A Round Up Of My 2016 - BLOGMAS DAY 22 πŸŽ…

"I wish we could put up some of the Christmas spirit in jars and open a jar of it every month."
- Harlan Miller

2016. It has been a roller coaster of a year, I tell ya! There were good moments, days, months, as well as bad ones. But the good outweigh the bad a lot!
During this year, I have experienced so many new things, met amazing people online and in real life, had so many amazing opportunities and grew as a person as well.
I'm quite happy with who I am at the moment and I'm so happy to share all these amazing moments with the people - and pets - I love the most!
Some of the greatest moments of this year are moments that I never thought would actually happen to me.
Like, my blog is actually somewhat successful - to me, at least -, I met the most amazing guy in the world which I'm lucky enough to call my boyfriend, I attended my first ever beauty blogger event in Berlin, I got my trainee position at a bank in Berlin as well....

You can tell, these were the good moments, but there were also bad ones..
I realised that my mind is playing tricks on me and that I hurt the people I love most on accident nearly all the time I open my mouth. I was almost depressed at some point of the year where everything just seemed so useless, I was feeling unfulfilled and unhappy. Even the smallest things made me furious although there was no reason to be furious at all.

At this very moment, I'm almost in complete control of my feelings and I'm so happy and proud of myself to have learnt to control such outbursts of emotions.

Lastly, I want to thank you all, my lovely readers, for supporting me on this blogging journey! I've been enjoying every single day of being able to write and publish a post for you to read and hopefully enjoy! Without you, I wouldn't be where I am today, so thank you, thank you a lot!! ♥

I hope your 2016 was great and that your 2017 will be even greater!! :)

πŸŽ… Outfit Ideas For NYE - BLOGMAS DAY 21 πŸŽ…

"Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen."
- Unknown

Celebrating the end of the last and the beginning of the new year is definitely something you never do badly dressed! In my opinion, you can go all out with the glitter, heels and sequins on New Year's Eve! If you're attending a party or so, that's definitely the outfit to go for.
If you're staying home with some friends and your family, though, you may want to get something more appropriate! :P

Above, I've created a little collage on Polyvore with four different outfit ideas, that I would love to wear for a NYE party but I'm not a person to attend parties so..

The first outfit on the left is a gold and white cocktail dress with stunning lace details all over it. In combination to that, I added a pair of black heels and a small black bag. You definitely do not have to get a pair of Christian Louboutin heels and a Chloe designer handbag for this outfit though!

The second outfit is something a bit different, with the leather trousers, the cropped velvet top and the sparkling silver heels. I do indeed like it very much and I think I would actually wear this to a party!

Next up, there's another dress, but way more simple than the first one. Just a basic black bodycon dress with long sleeves and a turtle neck, combined with a beige handbag and black sparkly heels. Simple yet chic and elegant. Perfect for a party or a night out with your friends as well!

The last outfit of this collage is yet another dress and it is one hell of a sparkly dress as you can tell! Combined with the pair of silver heels, it's definitely an eye catcher and you won't go unnoticed that evening wearing this!

Accessories are of course essential but for me, a pair of studs or creoles would do the job. A pretty watch or a bracelet, necklace, etc. would also be fine for me. I just don't like overdoing it with the jewellery, you know?

For this year's NYE, I actually don't really know what to wear, let alone what to do! Maybe I'll just spend the evening with my family, just like every year! πŸŽ‰

πŸŽ… Christmas Jumpers - BLOGMAS DAY 20 πŸŽ…

"For centuries men have kept an appointment with Christmas. Christmas means fellowship, feasting, giving and receiving, a time of good cheer, home."
- W. J. Ronald Tucker

It's been quite a while since I had my last Christmas jumper and I'm actually really upset about that to be honest. This year, I don't have one either... *quietly cries in the corner*
But nevertheless, I wanted to make a list of a few (online) shops that I had a little look at which had or even still have the cutest Christmas jumpers this year!
πŸŽ„Do you have any Christmas jumpers this year? And if so, where are they from?πŸŽ„

πŸŽ… Winter Skincare & Makeup Tips - BLOGMAS DAY 19 πŸŽ…

"Isn't it funny that at Christmas something in you gets so lonely for - I don't know what exactly, but it's something that you don't mind so much not having at other times."
- Kate L. Bosher

In winter it's in fact quite hard for the one or other to maintain glowy and healthy looking skin! I'm definitely one of those people who have a few issues with their skin when the weather gets colder with time! That's why I'm going to talk to you about some skincare and makeup tips that have seriously saved my skin in the past few weeks!

As I already mentioned in my latest Skincare Favourites post, I've really been enjoying the Caudalie creams, masks and cleansers. For the cold season, I've been using the Intense Moisture Rescue Cream every morning, the Moisture Recovery Cream every evening and the Gentle Buffing Cream every other night to prep my skin for the day/night.
Just to make sure your skin doesn't dry out too quickly due to the changes between cold winter air outside and the warm air from the heating inside, you will want to try and find the right combination of moisturisers and cleansers to use regularly. Your skin will be more than grateful for that!

For masks, I use whatever I have in my little collection that is said to thoroughly moisturise the skin. My skin is acting a little weird lately anyway so I'm glad to use any mask, etc. that promises to calm my skin and make it less dry.

For me, however, the best solution for those skin discomforts is the combination of the Magnitone BareFaced! Facial Cleanse Brush* and the Samaya Ayurvedic Skincare Hydrating Cleanser 'Pitta'*!

The BareFaced! is a lovely face brush that gives your skin a very good cleanse, but combined with the very rich cleanser from Samaya Ayurveda, it's a real dream come true!
On Samaya Ayurveda you can find your 'Dosha' that will then recommend you three products that will suit your skin type and provide everything your skin needs! In my case, it's 'Pitta' and the cleanser is so good! Although it doesn't smell that great - but not that bad either - it's become an essential of my evening face cleansing routine!
Together with the cleansing brush from Magnitone, it really is a relief for my skin! Every time after using both of these, my skin feels so soft and nourished! You will never want to miss that feeling again, I tell you!

For my makeup, I only wanted to mention my primer and my foundation. Again, it's the combination that just seems amazing for this time of year, especially with my skin misbehaving like it is at the moment!
My primer is the El Kadife Papaya Serum from my last month's Blogger Club DE Box, which is actually not meant to be used as a primer, I believe, but I alienated it and just use it to prime my face. It's quite sticky when applied to the skin, but when I then apply my go-to foundation at the moment, which is the Catrice Cosmetics HD Liquid Coverage Foundation, it gives the most flawless finish without making the skin look dull whatsoever!
This combination allows the skin to still look glowy due to the primer but to also look flawless due to the great coverage of the foundation!

πŸŽ„What are your tips when it comes to skincare and makeup during winter?πŸŽ„

πŸŽ… Outfit Ideas For Christmas Day - BLOGMAS DAY 18 πŸŽ…

"At Christmas, all roads lead home."
- Marjorie Holmes

Everyone spends their Christmas Day a little differently. Some stay at home with their family, others may go out for dinner or something. So because of all these different things you could do on that special day, I created a little collage with Polyvore to show you some outfit ideas that I really like and that I would personally wear, if I would actually do something interesting on Christmas Day, but I'm not haha!

Starting off with something casual for when you're staying at home, I chose a cute Christmas jumper with some black tights and maybe a pair of fluffy socks. Such a casual but still very Christmassy outfit! When you're going to go out with such an outfit, you can easily combine this with a pair of black flats, just to keep it simple but still a little chic.

Something a little more chic and less casual: a cosy cream coloured knit jumper, combined with a simple red skirt (black tights) and either a pair of black flats or a pair of cream coloured ankle booties. It's quite simple yet a great outfit for going out for dinner with your family or some friends!

The next outfit is definitely a lot more chic. It's a burgundy coloured dress and I combined it with a pair or rosegold heels and a black handbag. Love it a lot!

The last outfit, is a red lacey dress combined with white-golden heels and a cream coloured handbag.

Jewellery can of course be added as well, maybe some lovely earrings or necklaces to add a little more sparkle to your outfit!

πŸŽ… Where To Go On New Year's Eve - BLOGMAS DAY 17 πŸŽ…

"I will honour Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year."
- Charles Dickens

For my family and I, it's almost become some kind of tradition to stay at home together and celebrate the New Year without having to go anywhere.

Of course you can go to a local party to celebrate 2017, but if you have a budget that you can use to travel to another country or even another continent for NYE then you should definitely do so!

Personally, I think that the best cities to celebrate New Year's in are New York, Berlin, London and Edinburgh. Not because of the huge fireworks whatsoever but because of the cities themselves.

I've never been to New York before, but I know that Berlin, London and Edinburgh are just beautiful and I would love to spend that exciting day in one of those cities!

At the moment, however, I'm too broke to actually afford a week or a weekend away just to celebrate New Year's. But maybe next year or the year after I will be able to celebrate NYE a little differently!

πŸŽ„Where are you going to celebrate NYE?πŸŽ„

πŸŽ… Christmas Cookies Recipes - BLOGMAS DAY 16 πŸŽ…

"May peace be your gift at Christmas and your blessing all year through!"
- Unknown

Cookies! One of my favourite sweet treats during the Christmas season! Today, I'm going to show you three really simple and delicious recipes for my all time favourite cookies! :)

You will need:

  • 150 g plain flour
  • 1 pinch baking soda
  • 50 g caster sugar
  • 1 pack vanilla sugar
  • 100 g soft butter

Mix all the ingredients in a bowl and blend until you have a smooth batter. Cover your worktop with flour, roll the batter and start cutting out your biscuits. After that, place them on a baking tin and leave in the oven for about 12 minutes at 180°C.
When they're done, let them cool and then you can decorate them however you'd like! I covered them in chocolate and put gold, white and silver sprinkles on them!

Cinnamon rolls
You will need:

  • 60 g soft butter
  • 50 g cream cheese
  • 140 g caster sugar
  • 1 pack vanilla sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 180 g plain flour
  • 1 pinch baking soda
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • cling film

First, you will have to mix the 60 g butter and the cream cheese until smooth, then add 80 g of sugar, vanilla sugar and the egg yolk and continue mixing. Fold in the flour and the baking soda while mixing.
Roll the batter between two layers of cling film until it has a rectangular shape of about 20 x 30 cm. Remove the upper layer of cling film. Spread the melted butter onto the rolled batter. Mix the rest of the sugar (60 g) with the cinnamon; put one tablespoon of the mixture aside. Now cover the batter with the sugar-cinnamon mixture and start rolling it from the smaller side; cover the roll with the rest of the sugar-cinnamon mixture you've put aside.
Now leave the roll in the fridge for about three hours.
After the time is up, cut the roll into slices about one to two cm wide, put them on a baking tin and bake them for about 12 minutes at 180°C.
Let them cool and enjoy! :)

Linzer Cookies
You will need:

  • 400 g butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 100 g jam
  • 600 g plain flour
  • 200 g icing sugar
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla sugar

Start by mixing all the ingredients until you get a smooth batter and put it in the fridge for about an hour.
Roll the batter and cut out cookies with a hole in the middle and cookies without a hole. Those will be your 'foundation' for the jam later on.
Bake them for about 10 minutes at 180°C and let them cool. Afterwards, spread the jam onto the cookies without the hole and put the ones with holes on top. I also covered the top cookies with chocolate but that step is optional!

πŸŽ„Let me know if you try any of these and make sure to tag me in the photos if you post them on social media!πŸŽ„

"One of the most glorious messes in the world is the mess created in the living room on Christmas Day. Don't clean it up too quickly"
- Andy Rooney

Grab yourself a cup of tea, because that's what I like to do, especially during winter! Lately, I've really been loving the amapodo TEAFAVS No. 1 to 4*, together with the matching tea glass*!

Like I said, there are for teas, the Refresh Tea, the Fruit Tea, the Herbal Tea and the Herbal Tea with Chilli - weird combination, right? But it tastes amazing!

My favourite teas are definitely the Refresh and the Fruit Tea! They taste amazing and do remind me a lot of Christmas because the Fruit Tea has a hint of cinnamon in it! Love it!

All the teas from amapodo are detox teas as well! There's no real plan to follow when drinking these, so you can have one for breakfast, in school or at work, when you get home or whenever you feel like drinking one really!

Also, I think the packaging and the tea glass are really pleasing to look at! Haha I don't know what it is about all that, but I really like the design!

πŸŽ… Christmas Gift Guide For Him - BLOGMAS DAY 14 πŸŽ…

"There has been only one Christmas - the rest are anniversaries."
- W. J. Cameron

Another gift guide, whoop! A few days ago, I already posted something like this for all the boys or best friends out there, looking for the perfect present for their girl(s)! Today, I'm going to present to you my gift guide for all the girls and girlfriends out there, looking for something to give to their man on the special day of Christmas!

Yes, some men may like to be given clothes for Christmas or any other special occasions during the year. Just make sure it's his size and style and don't buy him a new pack of socks... Just, don't.

I don't know what it is with men and shoes lately but I feel like, especially my boyfriend, has fallen in love with shoes and has developed a new passion for them. So if there's a special man in your life, loving shoes just as much, get him a pair of his favourite sneakers for Christmas!

I think a watch is always a good present for a men. They're classy, elegant and chic most of the time and they make any outfit look way better, in my opinion!

Hats, belts, wallets, sunglasses, phone cases... There are loads of accessories for men as well! Have a little look at that section of the shop and maybe you find your last minute Christmas present!

Technological stuff
New headphones, a game for his Xbox or whatever technological stuff there is to give him for Christmas that he could need. Or he likes photography so you can get him a little tripod-remote control-ring light-starter-kit, which was my first gift idea but I already changed it about three times soo.. haha

Grooming sets
This may seem so stereotypical but it's just as popular to be given a grooming kit as a man as it is for women to receive makeup or other beauty products, I believe. So why not give him a new all-in-one set with some moisturisers, a bag for his razor and maybe even a completely new razor as well?!

I once again realised that I'm definitely not the best when it comes to gift guides, but I did my very best and hope you liked it! :)

πŸŽ„Would you add anything else to this list?πŸŽ„

πŸŽ… GLOW Berlin 2016 - BLOGMAS DAY 13 πŸŽ…

"Christmas, children, is not a date. It's a state of mind."
- Mary Ellen Chase

In October this year my cousin and I probably made the best decision ever! I suggested going to the GLOW Beauty Convention in Berlin together and of course she liked that idea. However, when I saw the price for one ticket (Gold Early Babe Tickets weren't sold out at that time and cost about €50 each), I hesitated because I would also have to pay about €50 for the train journey, etc. She was more than bummed and simply decided to buy the ticket for me instead.

I will never ever be able to thank her enough for paying for my ticket! ♥

So, on December 3rd, my cousin, my best friend - whom I had talked into coming with us as well, ha - and I had the best day of our young lives so far! It was such an incredible day!
The Gold Early Babe tickets gave us access to the convention an hour before the doors were opened for the 'normal' tickets, so it was around 10:30 when we went into the venue. It was the STATION Berlin and it was insane how many people actually fit in there haha!

We walked around the venue, had the one or other chat with the lovely staff from all the different makeup brands and got so many goodies I still don't know where to put them all!
At 13:50, our meet and greet was just about to start and we were beyond excited, as you can imagine! We were looking forward to that all day long as we were able to see our favourites in real life!
My personal favourite was Stefanie Giesinger but the photo with her didn't turn out very well because she got distracted by someone asking her something while taking the picture with me... But oh well, it's still a picture, isn't it?
I also met the German YouTubers Kathi from TheBeauty2go and Marvyn Macnificent and they were the loveliest people I've ever met! It was a short but still unforgettable experience!

In the afternoon, after about five hours packed with beauty, stars, lots of people and many goodies, we decided to go home because our feet hurt like hell and the bags were becoming heavier by the minute!
Arriving home (at my cousin's) we unpacked all the goodies and if you're following me on Snapchat you probably have seen the mess we made haha!

Like I already said, it was such an amazing day and we will definitely be going again next year! Already excited, to be honest! :P

πŸŽ… Christmas Gift Guide For Her - BLOGMAS DAY 12 πŸŽ…

"Every gift which is given, even though is be small, is in reality great, if it is given with affection."
- Pindar

We all know that Christmas is not all about presents and gifting each other expensive things. It's about spending time together with your loved ones and have a great time.
However, presents still are an important part of Christmas, I think, and that's why I came up with a little gift guide for all the guys looking for a present for their princess or all the best friends looking for a new essential their BFF could need!

I won't leave any links in here, though, because there are literally thousands of website offering 'last minute' deals at the moment and I'm sure you'll find the right thing! :)

A girl always needs new clothes, so why not buy her the jacket she's always wanted or the Burberry look-alike scarf she recently found online? Maybe she asked for a new pair of shoes or whatever there is to wear! Girls can never have enough clothes in their wardrobe and I'm sure every girl is with me when I say that clothes are always a great present!

Fragrances & Perfumes
Your girlfriend ran out of her favourite fragrance? Buy her a new bottle of it! Or maybe buy her one that's something new she might like!

Hats, sunglasses, phone cases, purses... There are lots of accessories out there and a girl can never have too many of these as well! A nice and chic looking accessory is such a great and thoughtful gift and it will definitely make a statement if you, for example, buy a new floral case for her phone that she's happy to have with her all the time!

Jewellery & Watches
It's almost like with the accessories. Get your girl the Pandora ring she's wanted for so long or buy her a new Cluse watch to obsess about, she'll forever thank you for that!

You don't need to buy her the latest Michael Kors bag or the most expensive Dior one. Just make sure to get her one that you think she's going to like and get the most use out of!

And last but not least: makeup. Eyeshadow palettes, lipsticks, brushes, makeup bags, etc. There are so many great makeup bits out there that she'll definitely be happy about!

πŸŽ… Diaries & Planners For 2017 - BLOGMAS DAY 11 πŸŽ…

"Christmas gives us the opportunity to pause and reflect on the important things around us - a time when we can look back on the year that has passed and prepare for the year ahead."
- David Cameron

Definitely not the best photo but somehow I didn't manage to take a better one.. Ahh the thing with the camera, I will never be good at this haha!
Now back to the actual topic of today's Blogmas post. As a blogger, you may or may not be a little obsessed with planners, diaries, notebooks and basically everything that you can write down your ideas and plans in! That's why I thought I would leave you a few links down below with the most adorable and gorgeous planners and diaries for 2017 I've seen so far! Maybe there's one for you as well! :)

πŸŽ… How To Find The Perfect Present - BLOGMAS DAY 10 πŸŽ…

"Christmas is the day that holds all time together."
- Alexander Smith

Especially for students and younger people around my age I think it's a lot more difficult to actually find a great present for someone that you can also afford! I've had a job for about three months now to earn some money and save it for my move to Berlin next year. Of course, I also bought some Christmas presents with that money, but all of them were really inexpensive so they would fit into my budget.
The best presents, however, are the ones that are self made. It's also good to know what kind of hobbies the person you need a present for has. If there's a beauty blogger to buy a present for I think it's a lot easier than getting something for a music lover, in my opinion.

You may as well just want to google 'presents under €50, €20, etc...' and there will be lots of websites which suggest you different kinds of presents for every occasion, gender, etc.
Naming just one of those websites here because I only ever ordered from such a website once before and it was such an amazing present but there's also a lot of.. weird stuff on there that you will probably never have thought about giving to someone on Christmas!

Gift cards are also great when you're on a budget actually! They're not personal at all, though, you can make the overall present, like, a €25 gift card and a little present worth €25. That way you can almost be sure the person you're giving this to will be happy with the present you gave them and will also be able to buy something for him- or herself!

Down below, I've listed down a few websites that I like to browse for presents...
πŸŽ„I hope you will find or have already found great presents for you loved ones! If not, remember that DIY presents are way more personal and special!πŸŽ„

πŸŽ… Festive Nail Colours - BLOGMAS DAY 9 πŸŽ…

"A lovely thing about Christmas is that it's compulsory, like a thunderstorm, and we all go through it together."
- Garrison Keillor

Just like lipsticks, nail varnishes are an essential to me during the festive season. Yes, I like to do my nails more often and apply lipstick almost every day during the month of December, ha! Weird me...
Anyway, today I'm going to talk to you about some of my nail varnish favourites for the festive season!

This is also a collaboration with Sally Hansen DE! They very kindly sent me five of their new Complete Salon Manicure nail colours and I thought I would feature them during my Blogmas series!
They're such great colours, they last very long and you don't have to apply a tremendous amount of coats until it looks good. I hope you know what I mean haha :P
Down below, there are all the numbers and shades so you can maybe find a new favourite for yourself! :)

  • 160 Shell We Dance
  • 175 Arm Candy
  • 660 Terra-Coppa
  • 560 Kook A Mango
  • 610 Red Zin
  • 641 Belle Of The Ball

These might not be your average nail colours for Christmas but I really like them and I think, especially because they last so long, they quickly have become my favourite range of nail varnishes! :)

πŸŽ… Our Family Christmas Traditions - BLOGMAS DAY 8 πŸŽ…

"Christmas is a season not only of rejoicing but of reflection."
- Winston Churchill

Grab yourself a cup of tea like I did before starting to write this post and make yourself comfortable for reading a little story about my family's Christmas traditions... πŸŽ…

Every year, since we moved away from Berlin, the time before, during and after Christmas has always been the same. I don't mind, though. It's something I'm really looking forward to all year long!
On the 24th of December, on Christmas Eve, we all decorate the Christmas tree; the one for my mum, dad, brother and I, and the one my grandma has. She always just uses silver and white baubles and it's getting quite boring with time but she likes it so... The other Christmas tree is almost a mess of different colours: gold, red, sometimes silver or even pink! My mum really makes an effort when it comes to baubles and it's great to see her so happy and satisfied with the tree every single year!

After decorating both the trees, I help my grandma cook dinner and prepare everything for the rest of my family to be ready for when the rest of the family comes around. It's just the people living with me, so my mum, dad, brother, grandma and two of my uncles, my aunt and my cousin on Christmas Eve.

When my grandma and I are done preparing all the food and setting the table, she goes back into the living room and has a little nap on the sofa, while my brother is having his nap on the love seat next to her. It's become a real tradition for these two to take a nap together on Christmas Eve before the guests arrive!

Later in the evening, my aunt, my uncle and my cousin arrive and then we just chat... Chat, chat and chat. Until one of us 'kids' - mostly one of my uncles, ha - tells everyone to open the presents, which I had nicely and neatly packed underneath my grandma's Christmas tree since we are all celebrating in her living room.
After everyone's gotten their presents, the three guests we shared some time with, eventually go home.

Which means.... FOOD! Then it's finally time for dinner, mostly it's around seven o'clock in the evening. Afterwards, we all help cleaning up to make sure we're ready on time to watch National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation and The Muppets Christmas Carol afterwards.

It's always my favourite day of the year! There's no other day where my family gets this close, which is quite sad... But especially because there are so little moments where we all really get together, it's even more perfect on Christmas Eve!

On Christmas Day, we don't really do anything since we did all the present-opening, etc. on Christmas Eve already - that's just how we do it, ha.

And these are basically our Christmas 'traditions'! Not quite traditional at all, but I love how our family gets together because of Christmas!

πŸŽ… The Perfect Cosy Night In - BLOGMAS DAY 6 πŸŽ…

"The two most joyous times of the year are Christmas morning and the end of school."
- Alice Cooper

It's soo cold at the moment and I'm thankful for every single moment spent in my warm and comfy bed, all snuggled up with my kitty, a cup of tea and my new favourite series on Netflix: Breaking Bad. Like, holy moly, it's amaaazing!!
But now, back to the actual topic of today's Blogmas post! As much as I like blogging, social media, etc. I do need the one or other night off, away from all those websites but Netflix and just chill. I'd actually rather have a chilled evening every day than go out partying. That's just how I am! :P

To make a night in 'perfect' to me, I always start off by taking off my makeup if I wore any that day and give my skin a good nourishing cleanse! Lately, I've been using the Wunderfrollein Skincare Glow Set* and I've never been amazed this quickly by a skincare series before! In the evening, I use the cleansing foam, the serum, the eye cream and the face cream for the night all in that order and after I'm done, my skin feels like heaven! It's soft, smells great and just feels incredible! I will post another full review on all of the products soon!

I know I said that sometimes I just need some time off from blogging and everything, but sometimes I do like to snuggle up in bed and just plan heaps of new things for my blog! Especially during this time of year, I love to plan stuff for the new year and I'm already so excited so share all those new and exciting things with you!

Candles, chocolate and a cup of tea are of course essentials for the perfect cosy night in for me! For tea, I really like the amapodo teas lately, which there will be a whole post about in just a few days time!
And last but least, I had to mention my all time favourite hand cream! The Seta Crema Mani*, which smells incredible and leaves your hands soft and moisturised! Looove it!
