Ride or Die Makeup Tag

Last year, Jaclyn Hill came up with the popular 'Ride or Die Makeup Tag'. In her video she talks about the makeup products that she would bring on a desert island with her.
Lots of other YouTubers and Bloggers did this tag and I really wanted to jump on the bandwagon as well - I wasn't tagged to do this, though.... Breaking the rules for once, I'm just going to talk about my Ride or Die Makeup in today's post, if that's all right?! :P

I'd say we should just get into this post without any further ado, shouldn't we?

I can't think of one for this post!

L'Oreal Nude Magique Cushion Foundation in 01

Catrice Cosmetics Liquid Camouflage Concealer in 005 'Light Natural'

Face Powder
I don't really like using a face powder

Rimmel Kate Moss Sculpting & Highlighting Palette in 002 'Coral Glow'

theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer

Maybelline Lash Sensational

Essence Make Me Brow Eyebrow Gel Mascara in 03 'Soft Browny Brows'

MAC 'Velvet Teddy'

Liquid Lip
I prefer lipsticks

Eyeshadow Palette
Zoeva 'Rose Golden'

Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium

I left out some of the original categories and included the category 'Brows' instead. It was actually a lot of fun setting up this post and writing it as well! However, it was quite hard to narrow down only one product for each makeup category but I somehow managed to do that! Yay!

Feel free to post a Ride or Die Makeup Tag yourself and let me know when you published it! I would love to read some other posts! :) x

Orange Blue Cosmetics Facial Creams

It's yet another lovely Sunday and I don't know why but I feel very happy and content lately. Of course, it's not a bad thing to say that you're happy but it's just not normal for me, you know?

A few weeks ago, I blogged about the Orange Blue Cosmetics Body Lotions which are incredible so of course, I wanted to review the facial creams for you guys as well!

I have been trying the Orange Blue Cosmetics Goodbye Makeup Reloaded CC Cream* in 'Light' for a while but so far I don't like it. It smells very nice, though, it doesn't look right on my skin. This is a product I had very high hopes in - and still have as I want to try it even more - because I'm desperately looking for a cc cream for my everyday makeup. I really want to like it and I will make sure to try it a few more times before going back to this post and adding a bit of information for this cream! I'm quite sure that it would look good on any other skin types, though, my skin and especially my skin tone is just really sensitive when it comes to new tinted facial creams!

The other product I want to talk about is the Orange Blue Cosmetics Q10 Regeneration Facial Cream*. This cream I had tried for a couple more times than the cc cream before I passed it on to my mum after a few days. It's just too rich and moisturising for my 'young' skin, I'd say. My mum, however, loves this facial cream a lot! She says it's great for her mature skin and she also likes the scent and the consistency! I also have to say that I also noticed a difference in her complexion since she started using the cream. Her skin looks a lot healthier and also a bit 'younger'.

It's funny and kind of cute that she always gives me a little review of products I get sent to try and then pass on to her because she knows I want to blog about them!

Overall my mum and I are very satisfied with the Q10 Regeneration Facial Cream, but personally, I really have to try and test the CC Cream a bit more before forming an opinion on it. Like I said it's quite hard for me, my skin and my skin tone to actually get something that looks decent on me!

Have you tried anything from Orange Blue Cosmetics before? If so, what have you tried and how do you like it? x

New Bath Time Additions

I planned this post a while back when the weather was still great to actually enjoy taking a bath but with currently 27°C outside and 24°C in my room, I think I'd rather have a cold shower than taking a bath! But I wanted to share these lovely new products from Dresdner Essenz with you anyway!

Dresdner Essenz is a German bath and body brand and they recently relaunched their website, now featuring a few bloggers and their favourite products. And guess who made it onto the website?! I'm beyond excited and happy that my picture and review is online now!

But now on to the products I want to talk about! I had four of their bathing products but I already used one of them when I took the photo so I will just talk about that one....

The three products that made it into the photo - but were used a few days afterwards, of course - are the Bubble Bath Mango* (€3.99), which smells incredible and makes the best bubbles and two of their bath salts, which are the Bath Essence Paris, Mon Amour!* and the Bath Essence Dewy Fresh* (€1.19).
The product I had already used was the Sparkling Bath Buoyance* (€0.99), which smells delicious and leaves your skin smooth and silky after having used it in your bath.

All of these products are amazing for having a relaxed and soothing bath after an exhausting day or just to de-stress in general. The thing I like about them the most is their scent, though. I have tried a few products from Dresdner Essenz before I was sent these goodies and I already knew what some of the Sparkling Baths smelt like - I loved every single scent I had, I can tell you!

Not only do they smell amazing, they are also great for your skin. Especially the Bubble Bath makes my skin feel soft and hydrated that I rarely need to use a body lotion afterwards anymore!

I really enjoy using these bathing products and I will definitely purchase more of them!

Have you tried something from Dresdner Essenz before? x

Prep Your Skin For Spring - Guest Post by Mia Taylor

Spring is the time when everything is in bloom. The cold, dreary days of winter slowly become colourful and bright, and people emerge from their heavy, dark coats and slip into light jackets. Everything awakens, and the air is filled with the scent of flowers and fresh grass. While we never forget to change the clothes we wear, sometimes we don't realise that our skin routine will need to be different as well. Below are a few tips that will help you start the spring with a clear, beautiful face.

In winter our skin doesn't have a lot of chance to breathe, so do yourself a favour and find a good body and face scrub. Exfoliating will help you get rid of the dead skin cells and keep you feeling fresh. It will also open up your pores, and make it easier to apply any cosmetics you might be using. Choose a scrub that's appropriate for your skin type, as not all scrubs are the same - some might be too harsh for you.

Choose a lighter moisturizer
When the weather is cold, we tend to use heavier creams in order to protect our skin from the elements. But in spring, instead of oil based, try using a water based moisturizer. Find something with a nice, light texture that won't make your face look too shiny, because warmer times are coming and you're bound to sweat more. It would also be good to start using a sunscreen with higher SPF, especially if your skin is sensitive and prone to redness.

Be careful with your makeup
Spring usually calls for brighter things, not only when it comes to clothes. This year you could have fun with pastel coloured makeup which will give you a softer, more elegant look. Your foundation should be lightweight and water based, as heavy foundation can cause breakouts in warmer weather. Spring is the best time to experiment with colours, so don't be afraid to try something you normally wouldn't.

Keep your skin smooth
In winter, you usually wear warm pants, so you don't have to pay much attention to how hairy your legs are. However, spring is the time of shorter skirts and strappy shirts, so it's time to schedule the appointment with your regular cosmetologist. Better yet, now is the perfect time to try the permanent laser hair removal. It definitely costs more than your regular waxing, but you will save a lot more money in the long run and it will make both your spring and summer more enjoyable.

Up your water intake
It's always important to stay hydrated, but it's especially good to drink more water as the weather gets warmer. This will help keep your skin clear from blemishes and you'll want to look your best now that you can no longer hide behind a woollen scarf.

Have a balanced diet
We tend to overeat during winter and then those extra pounds come back to haunt us when we attempt to get into tight pants and short skirts. Eating well is very important not just for your weight, but also your skin. People who have issues with pigmentation or with acne would especially benefit from cutting out processed food and sugars from their menu, as these can make you break out like crazy. Choose many light, small portions instead of eating three huge meals a day and try to eat a lot of fruit and vegetables.
If you are dreading the cold and can't wait for this winter to be over, then maybe you should try and make the wait more enjoyable by preparing for spring. Now's the right time to make plans for your vacation, or use the bad weather as an excuse to stay in and curl up with a good book and warm tea.

Weleda Lip Balms

I'm finally back with a new blog post today! On Monday, I had my last a-levels exam, which was Economics and I did all right, and now I can finally catch up on all my social media accounts and continue writing up blog posts, scheduling them and taking photos for all the upcoming posts I want to publish!

However, I still don't feel as motivated about blogging as I should which bothers me a lot but I'll try my best to get over it and find some more motivation again! :)

I recently got the chance to try out the three new Weleda Lip Balms* in the shades berry red, rose and nude. Normally, I just use the original Labello as a lip balm because it makes my lips soft and nourishes them very well.

When applied to the lips, the Weleda Lip Balms give you a hint of colour, which looks still very natural and moisturises your lips as well! They're a bit sticky when first applied but after a while, that sticky feeling just goes away and leaves your lips looking soft and with a bit of colour!

My personal favourite is the shade rose as it is the perfect 'my lips but better' shade for me! Personally, I think that these are great lip balms and look really pretty and natural when applied to the lips but I do prefer my Labello a lot more! I just like clear lip balms better than coloured ones, I guess.

Have you tried anything new from Weleda recently? x

MAC Lipstick 'Sin'

💮 Happy Friday! 💮

It's such a lovely day today, isn't it? I'm so glad the weather has become more like actual Spring recently - it makes me so happy and puts me in such a good mood!

In today's blog post I want to talk to you about another MAC lipstick of mine, which is the shade 'Sin'. My boyfriend got me this shade for my birthday in January - well, actually I picked the shade and he paid for it... :P
I recently talked about the shade 'Whirl' in a separate post here on the blog, if you want to go check that out first!
But I basically talked about everything from texture, to how long it lasts, to price and where to get it. I hope I won't repeat myself that much in this post because these are the exact same lipsticks, just in different shades! However, I wanted to do a single post on 'Sin' because the shade is just freaking gorgeous!

Which now leads me to the actual review of the lipstick! 'Sin' is a dark red-purple-berry toned shade, which is just perfect for Autumn and Winter. I love wearing this all year around, though, it looks better during those seasons!

For this lipstick, I sadly don't have a matching lipliner which makes the application a lot more difficult. During the day it also tends to smudge a bit but it's nothing a cotton bud can't fix!

As for everything else, it's identical to 'Whirl'. This shade is also one of the matte finishes, which are my favourite at the moment.
Swatched on the back of my hand, this shade looks very similar to 128 'Starry Eyed' from Rimmel, which surprised me a lot!

Well, this seems to be a shorter post than usual but I already talked about everything in that other post! haha :P

How do you like 'Sin'? x

p2 Cosmopolitan Chic Limited Edition

Today, I finally feel like blogging again! Yay! You may or may not have noticed the different background as well. I'm currently at my boyfriend's house so I had to use the given backgrounds... haha

Yesterday I received a package from p2 Cosmetics because Vanessa and I had taken part in a giveaway on Facebook a while ago. Last week we got a message saying that we won the complete limited edition 'Cosmopolitan Chic'! Her post will be up today as well if you want to check that out!

We didn't want to have a look at the collection before actually receiving the packages and when we opened them yesterday we were more than excited!

But now let's get on to the products of the 'Cosmopolitan Chic' LE! I haven't tried any of them yet because I want to do a 'First Impressions' post on these products soon but I didn't want to withhold you this beautiful collection!

Shades (left to right): 020 'Milan fashion', 030 'Berlin lifestyle', 010 'London chic'; 020 'silver expression', 010 'gold expression'
There are three go with the flow matte lip creams and two voyage fever lip toppers of which I have written you the shades below the photo!
I have really high expectations in these lip products and I'm also really excited to try them for the first time!

Next up, there are two over the top-coat nail polishes in the shades 010 'thrilling' and 020 'enticing', which look gorgeous and I can't wait to try them!
There's also a multi-functional travel balm which you can use as a body balm or as a lip balm.

Shades (left to right): 020 'Singapore', 040 'Bangkok', 030 'Tokyo', 010 'Hong Kong'
In the collection, there are also four kajal pencils, the explore asia chopstick kajal. I really like the idea of the packaging and the colours are cool as well!

Four other products of the 'Cosmopolitan Chic' are two always ready lips 2 cheeks balls in the shades 010 'cocktail party' and 020 'rooftop event'. I have read quite a bit about these 2 in 1 cheek and lip products which make me even more excited about trying the ones from p2!
There are also two pump up the glow eye blur pens in the shades 020 'champagne' and 010 'rosé', which look really gorgeous and I can't wait to try those either!

Colours (left to right): 030 'metropolis red', 040 'metropolis fuchsia', 050 'metropolis grey', 010 'metropolis nude', 020 'metropolis green'
These manicure on the go polish pens look really cool and I can't wait to try these for the first time. However, I have now read a few negative reviews about these but I will definitely try and see if I like them or not!

Shades (left to right): 010 'Madrid', 020 'Rome', 030 'Paris'
The last products from this limited edition are the three globetrotter's choice lipstick pens of which you can see the shades above! They look really pretty and very creamy as well - they remind me a bit of the ByTerry Rogue Expert Click Sticks actually and I really liked my one! Definitely looking forward to trying these for the first time!

So that's everything from this lovely 'Cosmopolitan Chic' collection from p2! Like I already mentioned about a thousand times, I'm beyond excited to try all the products and tell you more about them! I will review them here on the blog as well as on my Instagram, so make sure to check back very soon!

Brand Focus: Manhattan

You may or may not have noticed that there haven't been new posts here the past two days, but at the moment life just seems to fall apart a bit for me... :(

It's time again for another brand focus post today, this time featuring lots of goodies from Manhattan!

I'm also hoping to post a Boyfriend Does My Makeup including these products anytime soon but for now, it really doesn't seem like a good idea, knowing my boyfriend still doesn't understand the difference between a concealer and a foundation... *sigh*

At the moment, I'm also lacking the motivation to blog for some reason. I always try my very best yet it doesn't seem to be enough for my liking. Let's hope everything gets better after all the exams next week!

Now without further ado, let's just jump right into the post, shall we?

Manhattan hasn't really been a brand that caught my eye until fairly recently. I knew they existed and I once tried one of their mascaras and wasn't that satisfied with it so I somehow never got around to using any of their products again.
However, their latest products and also the way the brand is being presented in the drugstores these days definitely made me want to try out more of their makeup bits!

In my makeup collection, there are now quite a few new products from Manhattan, which were kindly sent to me for reviewing purposes and I will happily review most of them here on the blog or on my Instagram for you guys!
The products I currently own are the...

  • 3 in 1 Easy Match Make Up in 30 'Soft Porcelain'
  • Moisture Renew Lipstick in 800 'Fun Fuchsia'
  • Soft Mat Loose Powder in 2 'Beige'
  • Natural Bronzing Powder
  • Supreme Lash Colourist
  • Contouring Kit in 001 'St Tropez Glow'
  • Multi Effect Eyeshadow in 31K 'Peach of Paris'
  • Eyemazing Effect Eyeshadow in 'Top of the Taupe' 96D
  • Eyebrow Pencil in 'Blondy Brow' 93D
  • Good to Glow Lip Colour Intensifier in 100 'My Own Pink' (not in the photo)

I have tried all of them so far and I'm very happy with the products. Not only does the packaging look almost 100% like some of the Rimmel packagings as you can tell, but also the formula of the foundation, for example, reminds me a bit of the Match Perfection Foundation!

I will definitely keep you guys updated on my favourites from this brand! :)

What product would you like me to post a review about soon? Let me know in the comments down below! x

Maybelline Super Stay 24H Foundation

There are quite a few reviews here on the blog recently, eh? But there are so many great products out there at the moment that I just have to show you guys and see what you think about them!

Today I want to review the Maybelline Super Stay 24H Foundation in the shade 003 True Ivory. I got this a few weeks ago at Müller - I actually wanted to get my hands on the L'Oreal True Match Foundation, hoping that they'd finally have my shade but they didn't so I got this one instead!
My cousin Yasmin told me that this foundation is a good one as well so I trusted her knowledge and purchased it! I'm currently trying to restock my makeup collection anyway so every new piece of makeup that has been recommended to me will find a new place in my collection!

Let's talk about the packaging first because that's the thing that caught my eye when I used the foundation for the first time.
The pump and the clear cap on the pump are made of plastic, which is typical for most drugstore foundations. However, this pump and the cap both feel like the cheapest material ever! I'm always a bit scared that when I take off the cap, the pump will just break off as well!

The good thing about this foundation, though, is the product itself, which is definitely more important than the packaging, isn't it?
The foundation has a light to medium coverage and is best to apply with a damp beauty sponge. I always use one pump on my each of my cheeks, one on my forehead and one on both my nose and my chin - that way I find it the easiest to blend with a sponge and it looks the most natural. The shade I picked up is also great for my skin tone at the moment which makes it look even better!

The finish of the Maybelline Super Stay Foundation looks quite natural as well as it's not too glowy but not too matte either - it's a good mixture of both. On the skin, it doesn't feel like makeup either. It's very lightweight and looks just like my skin; when applied properly!

I can't confirm that this foundation stays on your face for twenty-four hours, though. It lasted me well throughout the day but after seven to eight hours it started to come off in a few areas on my face. It also started to crease around my nose and around the corners of my mouth, which I normally just hate, but it didn't look too bad, considering it looked perfectly fine before.

Overall I'm really satisfied with this foundation and I'm very glad I was recommended this! It's a great everyday foundation with a very natural looking finish and it also lasts really well - definitely not twenty-four hours, though, but still long enough to get you through the day!

Have you tried this foundation yet? x

Samaya Anti-Ageing Cream Vata

Skincare has become another big category on my blog recently. I never thought that I'd blog about things like moisturisers, serums, facial oils or whatsoever in any of my posts or even write up posts dedicated to such products only.

The brand SAMAYA has been featured on my blog a few times now and it's fast become one of my favourite skincare brands; especially with their three different Dosha ranges. Everyone, who wants to try out their products, should take a little 'test' where you're assigned one of the three Doshas: Vata, Pitta or Kapha. My Dosha normally is Pitta but I was very kindly sent the Anti-Ageing Cream from the Vata range a few weeks ago to try and see if I liked that one as well!

The Pitta range is lovely from what I have tried so far (the cleanser and the anti-ageing oil) but I just don't like the smell at all! And because I mentioned that in the last post about a SAMAYA product and the lovely girls from the PR team read that, they thought I might like the smell of the Vata range better. It was said to smell like roses so of course, I liked the sound of that!

When I used the cream for the first time, I tested the smell first. And it smells SO good! It does smell like roses and makes applying the cream so much more comfortable!

I always use the cream in the morning and in the evening before applying a primer or after cleansing my face with the PIXI Glow Tonic. Because of the pump on top, it's very easy to get the right amount of product to apply to your face.

Another thing that I really like about the Vata cream is the consistency. It's very light and not sticky at all. It also absorbs very quickly when it's on the skin, leaving you with a very fresh and soft feeling.

The packaging of the SAMAYA products, in general, is also very lovely, just thought I'd mention that here as well! It's very simple yet very pretty and looks lovely on my dressing table!

What do you think about this cream? Do you like the sound of it? x

Miabox April 2017

💮Happy May Day!💮
I can't believe it's May already - where have the past four months gone to?! But oh well... I thought I would share the contents of the latest Miabox* with you on the blog today! It's the one from April and its theme was 'DIVA'.

In each Miabox, there are five different beauty products that match the months' chosen theme and a little card with some additional information about each of the products.
In last months' box, there were the five products that you can see in the image above.

  • Maurice Body 'N' Care Crackling Spray 125 ml (€17.50)
  • Phyris UV Add On SPF 30 Serum 50 ml (€24.90)
  • Badefee Body Butter 100 ml (€9.80)
  • Être Belle Golden Skin Caviar Eye Roll-O 10 ml (€19.95)
  • Callusan Hydro Foam 125 ml (€9.90)

In my case, I had five skincare products in the box, which I'm definitely not complaining about! I wish there would have been a little makeup product in there as well, though, but maybe next time!

That's the exciting thing about these beauty boxes; you never know what you get!

When I opened the Miabox – which was my first one ever, by the way! – I was pleasantly surprised that the products were all full sized!

Oh, and there was also a Baileys Iced Coffee Latte in the box, which I immediately passed on to my boyfriend – most of you might know that I don't drink alcohol so I didn't think it was necessary to include it in the photo for this post.
However, I thought it was worth mentioning because the coffee wasn't an official part of last months' box!

I'm already really excited for the next Miabox and its theme for the month! I will keep you guys updated on all the products and on the next box as well of course!

What do you think about the contents of the Miabox from April? Do you like them so far? x

Tanya Burr Cosmetics Birthday Suit Eye Palette

Shades from left to right: Marzipan, Toast, Cocoa Sugar, Soft Truffle
Today I'm back with another review for you guys! This time I want to talk to you about the gorgeous Tanya Burr Cosmetics Birthday Suit Eye Palette

I ordered this on Feelunique a few weeks ago because I had seen it basically everywhere on social media before and it looked absolutely beautiful! On Feelunique, this retails for €4.80, which is an incredible price for the product you get!

Within this palette, you get four different eyeshadow shades; two matte ones (Toast and Soft Truffle) and two shimmery ones (Marzipan and Cocoa Sugar).

When I first swatched the shades, I was very surprised by how pigmented and creamy they are! I only dipped my finger in each shade once and got an amazing colour payoff without any patches in the colour!

And because these eyeshadows are so soft and creamy, they're very easy to apply and blend as well! There's a bit of fallout when applying the eyeshadows to the lids, though, it's not that bad at all. I always dust it off with a fluffy powder brush and everything is clean again!

I recently used this palette in my everyday makeup look and was able to test and see how these shades look throughout the day. Surprisingly, they didn't look any different in the evening when I was about to take off my makeup. I used the Urban Decay Primer Potion before applying the eyeshadows to my lids but I think the shades would last very well on their own as well. Definitely have to give that a try!

I also discovered all of the other palettes in Tanya's range and I can't wait to try some other ones as well! Galaxy, Enchanted Dream and Hollywood have already made their ways onto my Feelunique wishlist!

Let's talk a bit more detailed about each shade now, shall we? The first shade Marzipan is a gorgeous soft rosy-pink shade with some very tiny shimmery pigments in it. It's amazing for an inner corner highlight or to emphasise the middle of the lid.

Toast is the second shade and it's a soft mauve-pink shade with a very velvety finish to it. This shade is great to use as a transition colour all over the eyelid.

Next up, there's the shade Cocoa Sugar which is a gorgeous dark brown-copper with slightly bigger shimmery pigments in it. It's gorgeous for darkening the outer corner of the eye or to use underneath the lower lash line as well.

The last of the four shades is Soft Truffle and it's the second matte shade. It's quite an ashy brown shade that's perfect for the crease to give a bit more depth to the eye makeup look.

All the shades together look gorgeous in an everyday makeup look as you have a shade for every part of the eyelid and the colours are just perfect for a natural easy look in general!

I'm so happy that I picked this up and already can't wait to pick up a few more of these eyeshadow quads from Tanya!

Have you tried this eyeshadow palette yet? If so, how do you like it? x

SLA Paris Skin Primer

It's finally Saturday, yay!
Yesterday, I had my last written a-levels exam, which was English, and I think I did really well actually. There's only the oral exam left now, which I'll be taking in economics and I'm really nervous! Two weeks left until that one and I will never have to go to school because of my a-levels again, eek! This is really exciting, yet a bit nerve-wracking, knowing that I'll then be thrown into the adult life, going to work, paying the rent etc.

Anyway! I actually want to talk about my new favourite primer today, which is the SLA Paris Skin Primer*. I rarely used primers before owning this one because I never found one that really blew me away. There was a time when I really liked the Maybelline Baby Skin Pore Minimizer but that ended long ago!

Here, I have the white version of the skin primer, but on the website SLA Paris, they have a pink, a green and an orange one as well.

This primer almost looks like a normal moisturiser when applied to the skin - I always give it half a pump onto the back of my hand and then dot it all over my face, focusing on my t-zone. On my hand, it does look like my everyday facial cream, but on my face, it eventually does its magic!

It instantly blurs fine lines and little imperfections or spots on the skin and leaves you with a very soft, silky and even base to work with! But because I do have quite large pores, it didn't blur or even out many of them, which I can work with by now as I've just got used to having those big pores on my face!

The smell of this primer isn't very strong at all. It smells very fresh and clean (see what I did there, eh?) and makes the application even more comfortable.

Although it's a bit sticky when first applied, it really sinks into the skin after a few minutes. Not too much because then it wouldn't make sense applying it in the first place, duh, but just enough to start applying makeup on top.

When applied, the primer also gives a very healthy glow to the face, which isn't covered by a foundation on top whatsoever.

I tried this primer for the first time together with my new Maybelline Fit Me! Matte + Poreless Foundation in the shade 100, because I wanted a) to see if the foundation shade is the right one for me and b) to test out how the primer works underneath a foundation that I'd be wearing all day long!

Surprisingly, the primer worked perfectly fine underneath the foundation! And the shade is perfect for my skin tone as well, just saying.

The primer made it really comfortable wearing the foundation all day long. Normally, I'd just take off my makeup in the afternoon because I just can't stand the feeling of it on my face anymore. Like I said with the primer, it was so much more comfortable as it also made the foundation feel a lot more lightweight and soft on the skin.

My t-zone still gets a bit oily throughout the day when I'm wearing this primer but I don't really mind. I've never really minded a shiny t-zone, to be honest! So that wasn't a big thing I had a look at when trying this out.

Overall, I'd say that this primer is definitely a very good one, which you can almost expect from a makeup product that retails at €29.99, in my opinion!

What do you think about the SLA Paris Skin Primer? Do you like the sound of it or nah? x

It's favourites time again already! I can't believe how fast this month has gone by... The good thing about the end of a month, though, is that I always have a post to publish on the blog because these favourites posts have become a regular thing on Lilies Beauty throughout the first few months of 2017!

Anyway, let's move on to my favourites of this month, shall we? I have assembled a few makeup and lifestyle bits in this post that I have been loving throughout the month of April and that I wanted to show you guys. But let's just stop rambling on now and get on with my favourites!

The product I want to mention first is one of new newest additions to my makeup collection, which is the Revlon Dramatic Definition Mascara. I have heard many Bloggers and YouTubers talk about this mascara and all the others from Revlon that have been released together with this one - I think there are four more - and I just really wanted to try on from this range! This one I got from Kleiderkreisel, which is a website where you can buy and sell, trade or gift the things you don't use or don't want (anymore) with other people. And gladly, there was a girl wanting to trade this mascara with one of my products and I was very happy about that - especially because this was brand new when I got it!

Next up, there's the Treaclemoon Soft Watermint Rain Bodyspray which, again, only made its way into my basket because I heard lots of German influencers rave about how good it smells - and they were absolutely right! It's a very decent scent of mint, mixed with a touch of watermelon and I really like it! It also stays on for a really long time, which I didn't expect from this bodyspray at all!

The next two makeup bits I want to mention already had their debut here on my blog a few posts back and I couldn't help myself but mention them again in my favourites this month! It's the L'Oreal True Match Foundation in the shade N.1 Ivory and the SLA Paris Skin Primer
Of course, there will be a full on review about the foundation from L'Oreal because I don't want to go into that much detail now, but I can safely say that this is by far my most favourite foundation at the moment! So make sure to keep an eye out for that review - I think I will upload it anytime soon! :)
The SLA Paris primer, though, is something new to my makeup routine that I only recently added to it. I first tried this and was immediately satisfied with how it made my skin look! But I don't want to give away too much already because there will be a full review on this one tomorrow!

After my most recent Feelunique haul, I was already sure that I would include the Tanya Burr Cosmetics Birthday Suit Eye Palette in my April favourites post because it's just the best eyeshadow quad I have tried in a very long time! Together with the PUPA Milano Vamp! 4-Eyeshadow Palette in 003, it's my most used eyeshadow palette at the moment! The shades are really pretty, they're easy to blend and very pigmented as well!

The last beauty item I want to mention are the pure peeling pads, which I posted a review on a few weeks ago. I got them in my recent Blogger Club Box and I just really like using them!

And last but not least I want to mention my old-new-love with the Cosmopolitan and the Glamour magazine! This month, I got both of the new issues and I must admit that I really missed them – I don't know why I stopped buying them but I'm glad I got these two this month!

So, these were all of my April favourites! I hope you've enjoyed reading this post as much as I've enjoyed writing it! 😊

MAC Lipstick & Lipliner 'Whirl'

MAC lipsticks. We all know them and most of us will have tried them as well. I have tried them and I absolutely love them - especially the ones with a matte finish!
There are three MAC lipsticks in my collection at the moment, which are Velvet Teddy, Whirl and Sin. I have already posted a little review on Velvet Teddy a long time ago, which you can read here, and I'm planning a review for Sin as well!

But for today, it's all about Whirl!

As you all know, MAC lipsticks are up there in the medium priced section of makeup products and with €21.50 for the lipstick and €17.00 for the lipliner it's still a burden for my bank account! This time, however, I didn't have to spend any money on these as they were gifted to me by my lovely friend Vanessa and my boyfriend!

Of course I'm just as impressed with this lipstick as I am with Velvet Teddy, though, with this one, and also with all my other matte lipsticks, I always use a lipbalm before applying it.
I find it a lot more comfortable to wear a matte lipstick all day long with a lipbalm applied beforehand!

The shade Whirl is a pink-brown nude that I think is very suitable for an everyday makeup look! I especially like how this looks with my skintone because I'm quite pale and this shade adds a bit more warmth and colour to my face!

The scent hasn't really changed either and it still smells of vanilla – yummy!

The lipliner, however, didn't satisfy me that much when I first used it. It's not as creamy as I always thought MAC lipliners would be but after I had warmed it up a bit, it was much easier to use and a lot more comfortable to apply to the lips.

Due to the exact same names of both products, it's obvious that they go perfectly together! I also saw a few other beauty bloggers combine the Whirl lipstick with the Spice lipliner or a few other different shades, but I just wanted to have a lipstick and the matching lipliner in my collection for once! Maybe I'll get my hands on one or two other lipliners from MAC someday to combine with my lipsticks!

For next week, I have planned a review for Sin as well, which I just love as much as my nude shades!

What's your favourite MAC lipstick shade? Maybe I can spot a new favourite! x

Zaful Wishlist

I was recently introduced to the website Zaful and they have so many lovely bits and pieces, ranging from dresses to off the shoulder tops to swimwear and so much more!
Are you looking for punk dresses? Lace swing dresses or anything else? Zaful and Rosegal will have you covered!
And because they have so many things that I would like to just have in my wardrobe and be able to wear every single day, I thought I'd put together a little wishlist with a few of my favourite things from their website!

On the first photo above there are the four pieces that I thought would look great as a first look at their selection of clothes!
I will leave all the items with their links down below, in case you want to have a look yourself! :)
  • Tiny Floral Halter Wrap Bikini Set (here)
  • Flutter Off The Shoulder Top (here)
  • Lace Up Floral Applique Ribbed Top (here)
  • Cami Laser Cut Romper (here)
Next up on my wishlist, there are four dresses that I just instantly fell in love with the second I saw them on the website! They're perfect for Summer, which I'm super excited for, and they're just so cute!
  • Ruffles Floral Plunging Neck Strappy Dress (here)
  • Striped Front Knot Cutout Cami Dress (here)
  • Floral Print Mini Cami Sundress (here)
  • Spaghetti Straps Floral Chiffon Flowy Dress (here)
As my wardrobe lacks a collection of off the shoulder tops and Zaful has quite a few cute ones, I also included four of those in my wishlist!
  • Floral Flare Sleeve Off Shoulder Blouse (here)
  • Striped Off Shoulder Blouse (here)
  • Off The Shoulder Denim Frill Top (here)
  • Leaf Print Off The Shoulder Top (here)
Being excited for Summer already has also made put a few of their bikinis on my list, which I would love to get my hands on very soon!
  • String Floral Panel Bikini Set (here)
  • Print Cut Out Halter Bikini Set (here)
  • Multiple-Rope Tiny Floral Bikini Set (here)
  • Palm Tree Print Strappy Halter Bikini (here)
Floral rompers seem to become my new thing this year and I would love to get a few to wear this year! I also spotted two denim pieces that I would like to get my hands on!
  • Floral Plunging Neck Surplice Romper (here)
  • Floral Print Off The Shoulder Drawstring Romper (here)
  • Haigh Waisted Embroidered Denim Shorts (here)
  • Patch Light Wash Denim Jacket (here)
The last part of my wishlist consists of a few accessories that I've been loving since discovering them!
  • Solid Color Felt Floppy Hat (here)
  • Chunky Heel Suede Ankle Strap Sandals (here)
  • Metal Solid Colour Cover Tote Bag (here)
  • Metallic Chains PU Leather Crossbody Bag (here)
So that was my wishlist from Zaful with many lovely pieces and all the links so you can have a look yourself!

Now I'd also like to throw in three bits from the Rosegal websites which I really like!

These are three random bits from the website but I thought I'd include them here as well!

  • Steel Mesh Band Quartz Watch (here)
  • Tropical High Waisted Patterend Shorts (here)
  • Pinstripe Button Bowknot A Line Skater Skirt (here)

So these are the very last pieces on my huge wishlist now!

Let me know what you think about the websites! :) x

Lernberger Stafsing Haircare

When it comes to haircare products I normally just stay with the ones I know best. Especially because my hair is quite damaged, dry and without any volume at the moment, which is quite annoying but nothing a good shampoo and conditioner can't fix!

So to test out something new and step a bit outside my comfort zone of haircare products, I got the Lernberger Stafsing Fiber Mousse*, the matching Blowdry Lotion* and both the Shampoo* and Conditioner for Dry Hair*.

Let's start with the products that haven't satisfied me that much. As I was saying on my Instagram post about the styling products - the Fibre Mousse and the Blowdry Lotion - from Lernberger Stafsing, I didn't like them very much when I used them for the first time, so I thought I should definitely give them a few more tries before stating an opinion on them.
But I just don't like them.
They make my hair look flat and dull and it makes my hair really electrified, which I absolutely hate!
Maybe these are just not right for my kind of hair or I used too much or too little or whatsoever but as far as I've used these, I can't really say I like them.

But now on to the products that have really blown me away in comparison to the styling products! The Shampoo and Conditioner for Dry Hair not only smell incredibly good, they are also great for my hair in its current state! This combination makes my hair look so healthy and shiny and after using my beloved Guhl Blowdry Lotion, my hair also looks voluminous as well, which I love!

Overall I'd say that the shampoo and the conditioner are definitely worth trying, whereas the styling products I'm not so sure with. Maybe it's just the state my hair is in right now or the amount I've used but so far I wouldn't recommend them.

How do you like the sound of these? Would you like to try them yourself? x
