At-Home Workout Routine

You know I'm not the most motivated person when it comes to working out. A few months ago, I decided just go for it and put together a little at-home workout routine!

The Preparation
For warming up, I do some of the Blogilates 30 Days Challenge exercises for arms, abs, my bum and my thighs! These are not only great for every part of the body, they're also really fun to do and I can already see a difference! So happy about that!

The Workout
From the app Freeletics, I do one or two workouts, like NYX, which is definitely my favourite out of all of them!

The Relaxation
After my mini workout, I mostly just drink some water, have a shower and then relax to some music and a face mask. I always feel so much better, knowing I've finally done a bit for my health and my body, ha!

It's definitely not much but I feel a lot better ever since I came up with this little routine! :) I haven't really been up to much exercises lately, though, because school is REALLY exhausting but I'm always doing my very best to continue this at home!

How are you working out? x

Emma Hardie Travelling Set

If you have had a look at my most recent Feelunique Haul then you probably know about this set. I already did another review on the NUXE The Essentials Set a while ago and I thought it's just about time to do one on this set as well!

So this is the Emma Hardie Travelling Set and it was also in the sale for 22.40€, which I thought was a very good price for an EH set!

The set consists of the
  • Amazing Face Intense Body Lotion
  • Amazing Face Rosehip Exfoliating Seeds
  • Amazing Face Moringa Cleansing Balm
  • Amazing Face Professional Cleansing Cloth
  • Amazing Face Age Support Cream
  • Protect & Prime SPF 30 Sample

All the products are just amazing and I absolutely love them! My favourite is the cleansing balm in combination with the cleansing cloth! It's such an incredible combination and I just love it!

As for the other products, I love them as well of course , just not as much as the above combination! The body lotion is amazing as well, especially for my dry skin and I can't just go to bed without using it before!

The age support cream, I will hand over to my mum I think as I don't really use anti-ageing, age support, etc. stuff yet. I mean, this is said to make the skin "smooth, more radiant and younger looking" but I just feel like my mum would really like this so... :)

If it wasn't for the price of the cleansing balm, I would definitely repurchase this but with £38 it's just a little too pricey for me.

Have you ever tried anything from Emma Hardie? x

February Favourites

It's favourites time once again! Can't believe that another month is already over! Time flies! I also don't have as many favourites as I normally have but the ones I have this month are SO good! I absolutely love all of them!

First up, I want to talk about my beloved YSL Black Opium, which my boyfriend got me for my birthday! It smells incredible and it's basically become my signature scent by now, ha! There will be another post on it very soon!

The second one of my favourites is the Jessup 137 Tapered Highlighter Brush*! It reminds me a lot of the Morphe Highlighter Brushes and that's why I started using it in the first place; I wanted to know how different it is when applying a highlighter with a tapered brush. And I know now that it's amazing! Really love this brush!

Next up, there's the Samaya Ayurveda Facial Oil from the Pitta Range* that I've already talked about in my latest skincare post! The smell is definitely not my favourite but the effect it has on my skin is incredible!

As for makeup, I only had one favourite during February and it is the Catrice Cosmetics Liquid Metal Long Lasting Cream Eyeshadow in 030 Daily Dose of Rose. It's such a pretty colour and so easy to just apply to the lid, blend it and voilà, you have an eye makeup that looks beautiful and doesn't take much time to do!

Another scent that I've been loving is the Hollister Crescent Bay Bodymist! It smells SO good and I'm really glad I purchased this last month!

The moisturiser I've been using and loving lately is the NUXE Crème Prodigieuse from The Essentials Set. Sadly, this little tube is almost empty and I'm really debating whether I should spend another amount of money on a skincare product or not...

Last but definitely not least, I want to mention the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Cleansing Facial Wipes, which I've been using for a while now and every time I use one of these to take my makeup off, I'm once again so surprised how well these work, especially with waterproof makeup! They're also great for sensitive skin as they're not too harsh in ingredients! Highly recommending these!

What are your February favourites? x

Brand Focus: Sante

Another brand focus post for you today! This time, it's a brand I was introduced to at the GLOW in Berlin last year when I got one of their packages at the convention!

I must admit that I didn't know anything about Sante and their products until then and I'm actually still not very impressed with them.

The only thing that I really like is their Happiness Hand Cream but the rest is just not up my street, I must say.

The box I got at the GLOW, however, consisted of all the above products and I do basically just like the hand cream because it smells incredible and makes my hands SO soft! The other products... Well, they didn't really impress me at all. I'm not sure why, though, I just don't enjoy using them!

Skincare Tips for All Skin Types

Talking about skincare has been such an interesting topic for me lately, that almost everything I post on here seems like skincare tips, products for every skin type, etc. But I just feel like many people can relate to what I write about in terms of that topic and just don't really mind that I'm talking about this! :) I hope so, at least... haha

In today's post, I want to share some of my skincare products, that help my skin get through every season of the year. You know the drill, or some of you... In winter, your skin feels dry, itchy and looks pale. In summer, it's oily, sweaty and the makeup basically melts away.
Throughout one year, my skin undergoes all different skin types. So I thought I would share the products that help me make my skin feel 'normal' again with you.

Every skin type
For every skin type, I feel like the Pixi Glow Tonic, the Skin Chemist Rose Quartz Facial Oil and the Pure Feel Good Moisturiser* are just essentials. They make an incredible base of three products and are just amazing!
You might also wonder why I've put a hand cream in here. Well, you should take care of the rest of your body as well, not just your face! So to emphasise that, I put the Zoella Beauty Wonder Hand Hand Cream in here, too!

Dry skin
For my 'winter skin', as I like to call it, I feel like the Samaya Anti-Ageing Treatment Oil from the Pitta range* is the best product to keep my face hydrated and safe from the cold weather! Also, the changes between cold and warm air are just terrible for my skin, especially for my lips! The Blistex Lip Relief Cream is definitely the best for the colder season, in my opinion!

Oily skin
As for my oily skin days/months, I feel like the Deynique Synergie Bio Cell Cream* is just the best moisturiser to use! It's not too heavy on the skin, but it has just the right ingredients and texture to moisturise my face enough! If that makes sense... haha

Combination skin
At the moment, though, my skin is definitely a combination of the above two skin types. As for that, I like to use the Reviving Toner from Nudu Natural Beauty* in the morning and the Caudalie Grape Water* afterwards and I have definitely noticed a difference ever since starting to get a routine into different types of products for different skin types!

What's your favourite skincare product at the moment? x

Eyebrow Routine + Dying Them

Eyebrows. When I was younger, I hated mine. Now I actually really them! The shape, the colour and the overall look of them. So I thought that now I'm at that point in my routine where I can share it with other people without having them laughing at me for how my brows look lol

For filling them in, I use the Rimmel Brow This Way Brow Sculpting Kit in 003 Dark Brown and the Zoeva 322 Brow Line Brush. I use a combination of both the powder and the wax, starting with a bit of the powder, followed by the wax. On the inner part of my brow, I use the powder on it's own to make it look a bit more natural. After filling them in, I go over them with the Essence Make Me Brow Eyebrow Gel Mascara in 02 Browny Brows, just to make sure they stay in place all day.

After filling them in, I use the Catrice Cosmetics Camouflage Cream in 010 Ivory and the Real Techniques Detailer Brush from the Core Collection on the skin around my brows to give them a bit more definition and make them look a bit neater.

And that's it!

I basically have to pluck my brows every day, which is SO annoying as I just use some simple tweezers for that and it still hurts after years of plucking them! I'm definitely thinking about getting them done professionally very soon!

A few months ago, I also discovered this amazing brow dying kit from BeautyLash and it's the Eyebrow & Lash Dying Kit Sensitive in Medium Brown, which I thought would be too light for my hair colour, but it turned out to be the perfect match!

Ever since I started dying my eyebrows regularly, I've seen such a huge difference in filling them in, as it is so much easier and quicker! And they even look good without any products on in the first few days after dying them!

What does your eyebrow routine look like? x

Tartelette Tease Palette Dupe Review

In today's post, I'm going to talk about a huge favourite of mine and it's this Tartelette Tease Eyeshadow Palette Dupe from Aliexpress (once again...). I swear, this website is going to turn me into a broke woman one day, I tell you! lol

This is actual very similar to the original palette and I was a little shocked when I first used this because I thought for the price I paid (about €3.00) the quality would be horrible. But it's not. It's actually one of the best eyeshadow palettes I've ever owned in that price range!

The six colours are very pigmented, long lasting, they're so easy to blend and look gorgeous, in the palette and on the lids!

The shades whisper, wink, heartbreaker and bff are the four matte shades and crush and first kiss are two shimmery shades. All of these shades go together very well too, so you can easily throw this into your travel makeup bag and you're good to go! :)

How do you like this palette? x

Brand Focus: Nudu

A few weeks ago, I was kindly introduced to the lovely brand Nudu Natural Beauty. I got the amazing chance to try their complete skincare range, including the
  • Gel Cleanser*
  • Reviving Toner*
  • Softening Moisturizer*
  • Eye Cream*
  • Cleansing & Exfoliating Sponge*
These are all the 50 ml bottles and they're still going strong after several weeks of using them!

Let's now start with the Gel Cleanser! It's amazing for taking off your makeup and it leaves you with super soft skin! I've realised that I do prefer gel cleansers over foam ones; they aren't as messy and they're a lot better for my skin at the moment!

I always use the Reviving Toner in the morning before applying the Skin Chemists Rose Quartz oil to my face. Before I've started using this, I haven't really used many skincare products on my face in the morning but now, I really can't go without a toner anymore!

The Softening Moisturizer already has its effect in the name. It's one of the best moisturisers I've ever owned and my skin is incredibly soft after applying it to my face!

The Eye Cream is definitely my favourite product from this range! Many eye creams irritate my eyes and make the skin around them itchy and red and I just didn't like most of them! With this one, however, it's completely different! I just love everything about it and will for sure repurchase this!

The Cleansing & Exfoliating Sponge is also a great skincare product, though, I can only use this once a week. It really irritated my skin when I used this twice a week! So be careful if you have such a sponge that you try it properly to make sure you don't overdo it!

One thing I have to criticise about this range is the smell, though. It really is not the best... But I don't mind, to be honest, as long as the products do what they're supposed to do and that's the case with this range!

Fashion Must-Haves

It doesn't happen very often that I upload a fashion post to Lilies Beauty as I just like to focus on beauty, makeup and lifestyle stuff. However, ever since starting a blog, I've been wanting to add the category of fashion and style posts!
So as for today's post, I will give it a shot and present to you my first 'real' fashion post! Hope you like it!

For this post, I want to talk to you about some of the items of clothing that I think everyone should have in their wardrobe all year round!

Scarves, sunglasses, a nice watch or some pretty jewellery. Accessories are an essential when it comes to items in my wardrobe!
Make sure to keep everything a bit classy or whatever style you'd like to go for and you'll see that every outfit will look a lot different!

I fell in love with knitwear quite some time ago and I wear it pretty much all year round; not in summer of course but during every other season!
A simple cream or navy coloured sweater, paired with a pair of black jeans and white Converse and you're ready to go! Knitwear items are just perfect essentials for your wardrobe!

Black ankle boots
You can never go wrong with a pair of plain black boots or shoes in general. It will match every single outfit and you can be sure that it will look like you've actually made an effort while planning your outfit!

Trench coat
I only got my trench coat a few months ago from Primark for about €18, I think and it's one of the best purchases I ever made! It looks so elegant and classy, yet you can go outside wearing it without looking too dressed up!

The bag you can see in the image is again from Aliexpress and I freaking love it! It's such a pretty bag and it has the perfect size! Just another few staple items you should have in your wardrobe: handbags in various sizes and colours!
I also really want to expand my collection of handbags because it makes every outfit look a lot better!

So this was my first 'real' fashion post here on Lilies Beauty! :) What do you think about it?

Also, what are your current fashion must-haves? x

Skin Chemists Rose Quartz Age Defence Youth Facial Oil

In my recent everyday night time routine I talked a bit about how I recently started using face oils and how I've seen a huge difference in my complexion. Today, I want to talk to you about my absolute favourite face oil which is the Skin Chemists Rose Quartz Age Defence Youth Facial Oil*.

First of all, how gorgeous is the pink packaging and the bottle itself?! I just really like that and it was the first thing that caught my eye when I opened the parcel it came in!
The liquid in the bottle is pink as well and it feels quite velvety and a bit sticky on the skin. After having applied this, though, your skin will feel incredibly soft and it will look so glowy and healthy!

I have been using this oil for a few weeks now and I really do see a huge difference! I use this every morning before applying my makeup and it's amazing!

At the moment, you can get this for £24.99, but with the code MELANIEBLOG you can get an additional 20% off during the month of February, making this £19.99 in total, which is such a good price for this incredible product!

💕 The Perfect Valentine’s Day Date Night 💕

I've been so excited to write and publish this post, eeek! This is also a collaboration with Adore Me and Au Rate New York! Both such amazing lingerie and jewellery websites that you should definitely go and have a look at!

In this post, I'm basically just going to talk about how Valentine's Day would be perfect for me! In real life, my boyfriend and I are - hopefully - going to go to see Fifty Shades Darker, have dinner afterwards and then we'll see how the evening will continue... hehe
Of course that's more than perfect, but if I was able to plan Valentine's Day the way I wanted to, I would do it this way...

Preparation first. I would make a list and see what there is to do on Valentine's Day that my boyfriend would also like: activity wise, lingerie wise and of course outfit wise. Don't want to disappoint him that night, do we? That's when the website of Adore Me gets really interesting. Their lingerie sets are stunningly gorgeous!
Of course, I'd go for a red set for Valentine's Day because that's just the colour of love, passion, lust. Perfect for that special day, isn't it?

For my outfit, I would choose a red lace dress, a thick coat as it's still cold outside, simple black heels and a matching clutch.
Beauty and fragrance wise, it was quite easy to pick something. Red nails, red lips, false lashes and romantic curls. And of course Black Opium!
For jewellery, I'd go for some pearl studs, a pearl bracelet and a delicate gold necklace, like this one from Au Rate New York!
These tiny details just add a little something to the whole look, and with that stunning lingerie set underneath, you know your night is going to turn out just perfect!

Valentine's Day is honestly my most favourite day of the year, now that I have the most amazing boyfriend ever! 💕
A cinema-dinner-date is actually a great idea for that day, but if there was a beach near where we live, you know I would definitely set up a little picnic for us at the beach, with roses, candles, music... All that corny stuff you see in films basically.

Even if we agreed on "no presents" this year, I have a little something for him. It's not the ultimate present, but it's quite special to me and I really hope he's going to like it!

How are you planning to spend your Valentine's Day? x

Everyday Night Time Routine

When there's one thing that has been the same for the past few years, it's my daily night time routine. Nothing but the products has really changed and it's definitely my favourite part after a long and exhausting day.
Every other night, I take a shower before continuing with my actual routine. I make myseld a cup of tea for when I get unready and then have one right before going to bed. I feel like I can sleep a lot better when having had a cup of tea!

After preparing the tea, I put on my pajamas and then take off my makeup with the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Cleansing Facial Wipes, which are my absolute favourite because they don't irritate my skin at all and they smell really nice as well! Next, I cleanse my face with the Nudu Gel Cleanser*, which sadly doesn't smell too good but it makes my skin so very soft and healthy looking that I don't really care about the smell!

Having taken off my makeup and cleansed my face, I go back to my room to use my beloved Pixi Glow Tonic and the Caudalie Vinosource Riche Intense Moisture Rescue Cream, which I normally let to sink in for a couple minutes before applying the QMILK Cosmetics Skin Oil*. This again, doesn't smell good but it's the first ever face oil in my collection and I've seen such a difference in my complexion ever since I started using an oil on my skin that the smell really doesn't matter!

After my face is all prepped for the night, I only apply a lip balm and then a hand cream. At the moment, I always use the Zoella Beauty Wonder Hand Moisturising Hand Cream! It dries so quickly and smells incredible!

When I'm all done, my tea is ready to drink as well and I then mostly sit at my computer, browsing through the web or watch some TV before going to bed! :)

What does your night time routine look like? x

Makeup Brush Collection

Today, I have another post about some bits from my beauty collection. This time it's all about my makeup brushes! I already talked about how I store them in my recent Beauty Table Organisation post, but just so you all know, I keep all my brushes in the SKURAR plant pots and candle holders from Ikea.

My 'main brushes' are from the BH Cosmetics Rosegold Brush Set, which I purchased a few years ago and they're still going strong and I still love them the most!

In the second container, I keep all my Jessup Brushes*, which is an incredible set of 12 brushes, ranging from a big fluffy powder brush to a tiny lip brush!

In the third container, I keep a few Zoeva brushes, some Real Techniques ones and some high-street ones! My faves are the Ebelin brushes from DM.

How do you store your brushes and which ones are your favourite? x

NUXE The Essentials Set

After Christmas, I felt a little spendy and treated myself to a few bits from Feelunique, including the NUXE The Essentials Set. I paid about €18 for this set and I'm so glad that I purchased this!

Most of the time I'm using this when I head over to my boyfriend's house because there's just everything I need in here:

  • Prodigieux Shower Oil 30ml
  • Crème Prodigieuse Anti-Fatigue Moisturising Cream 15ml
  • Rêve de Miel Hand and Nail Cream 15ml
  • Huile Prodigieuse Multi-Usage Dry Oil 10ml
  • Rêve de Miel Face Cleansing and Makeup Remover Gel 15ml

And every single product is just so amazing on its own; they make my skin so soft and smell incredible as well! I really want to get the full sized products of these soon!

I've also heard/read so many good things about NUXE as a brand on other blogs that I just really want to try more from them!

Minimal Makeup Look

I think I've never written a blog post while having the flu... It's one of the most complicated things ever, I tell you! But I really wanted to get this post done for you and here you go, my updated minimal makeup look! I really do opt for this makeup look almost everyday because I like to sleep those five minutes longer in the morning, rather than spending super long on doing my makeup.

Furthermore, I wanted to feature some sent goodies from ChriMa Minerals Luxe in this post as well!
It's the very first time that I've been sent something that I'm not too keen on... Which is really sad because I was more than excited to try all mineral makeup, like concealer, foundation, etc. But these just didn't convince me at all! Maybe it's just the way I applied it or these minerals are just not right for my type of skin but I just didn't like these...

But now on to the other products! Of course I always use my trusty Catrice Liquid Camouflage Concealer, which somehow didn't make it into the photo, I just realised... Oh well! I've talked about that so many times, you all know by now that I just love it!
After applying my concealer, I use the Essence Make Me Brow Eyebrow Gel Mascara and the Maybelline Lash Sensational Luscious Mascara. For the lips, I always use MAC Velvet Teddy; it's the perfect 'my lips but better' shade and I just love it to bits!

When I'm feeling like a bit more colour on the eyes, I do use the ChriMa Minerals Luxe Eyeshadows, because as you can see, their pigmentation is insane and the colour payoff is just as incredible! So their eyeshadows have definitely convinced me and I will surely continue using those!

Which products are you using for a minimal makeup look? x

3 Foundations Worth The Try

Ever since starting this "3 ... Worth The Try" series on my blog, I think about which three products I can talk about next. Today, it's all about three of the foundations that I think are really worth the try!

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation
After having tried the Wake Me Up Foundation from Rimmel and loving it, I was sure I would like this as well, that's why I got it in the first place. And I was so right! I do really like this and I would say this has a medium but definitely buildable coverage! For applying and blending, I like to use my beauty blender because I feel like it's just the best way to apply this foundation and make it look the most natural.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum
This foundation is my go-to one when I want a healthy and glowy finish on the skin. It has a medium coverage and smells great, ha! The best thing about this foundation is definitely the look it gives to my skin! I feel like it just looks so natural and healthy and glowy and I just love it so much!

Catrice Cosmetics HD Liquid Coverage Foundation
Last but not least, there is a last year's favourite of mine, of course from Catrice Cosmetics! It's a high coverage foundation that has to be blended quite well because otherwise it can look really cakey and unnatural on the skin. But when applied well, this looks incredible and lasts all day long!

What's your go-to foundation? x

Pixi Glow Tonic Review

My skincare routine is an ever changing process. Ever since starting a blog and kindly being sent some new bits to try every now and then I realised that there are so many amazing skincare products out there!

As for face toners and such, I haven't really come around to try many. A few weeks ago, however, I decided to order the much talked about Pixi Glow Tonic on Cultbeauty! Of course it was a "the internet made my buy it" purchase, but it was well worth it!
Including shipping costs, I paid about €27, which I was a little shocked about at first to be fair, but I just treated myself to this anyway!

This is the 250 ml bottle and I use a few drops of this every night on a cotton pad, after having removed my makeup and before applying my moisturiser.
When I used this for the very first time, my skin burnt like fire and I was almost sure I would never use it again! But I did... And it was definitely worth it! My skin looks so much healthier and much more glowy, it's insane!

This will definitely stay part of my skincare routine for a little longer and I will repurchase it again for sure once I run out of it! Highily recommending this!

Are you already using the Glow Tonic or are you still deciding whether to pick it up or not? x

Nail Polish Favourites

There are not many nail polish posts on my blog so I thought today is a good day to change that! I want to talk to you about four of my most favourite nail polishes at the moment and why I like them so much!
One thing they all have in common is that they last very well; that's the first thing I have a look at before declaring a nail polish my favourite!

Essie 'Mademoiselle'
This is a great 'my nails but better' nail polish colour. It gives a slight hint of baby pink to the nails, yet it doesn't fully cover the nail. Really like this one when I want my nails to look like I've actually made an effort painting them!

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel '420 Tea Party'
The Sally Hansen Miracle Gels are definitely my favourite nail polishes ever! They last very long and all the colours are gorgeous, but this one is definitely my favourite! It's a very light blue and looks great when applied!

Visett No. 12*
A gorgeous copper nail polish colour that I just can't resist using! It does dry very quickly but lasts for what feels like ages!

Edding L.A.Q.U.E. 'Beautiful Berry'*
At first I was a bit surprised that Edding actually make nail polishes but then I tried this one and - despite the smell of Edding - it's a great nail polish and a gorgeous colour!

If it was possible, I would just go for all these colours every day, ha! :)

What are your favourite nail polishes? x
