Life Update: March

I can't believe it's March already! Time flies!
In 2017, I also want to continue posting some life updates every three months, just to keep you updated but also to write this down as kind of a diary for myself. That way I can go back to these posts someday and recall what happened during that time of my life.

The first three months of 2017 have already been quite exciting, nerv-wracking, sad, emotional, full of love and lots of other emotions.

I celebrated my 19th birthday in January with a full weekend in Berlin, together with my family and my boyfriend and it was by far the most amazing birthday I've had so far.

In February, not much happened. Although it was Valentine's Day and the last month of school for me, life hasn't really been exciting during that month.

March, however, has been a pretty exciting month. On the 10th, my boyfriend and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary, one week later we had our last official day at school and the a-level exams started last week.
I also just completed my therapy with my last appointment the other day and it has helped me so much seeing a therapist over the past year. I never thought that it would change me the way it did but I'm so happy about it.
The most exciting thing for me this month has been the acceptance of my application to become a talent/artist/brand ambassador for the GLOW Conventions in Germany. Like, I still can't believe it and get goosebumps every time I talk about it! It's now possible for me to get invited to be a GLOW Pro at one of their conventions or even to be invited as an artist! OMG! This is seriously insane and I'm still over the moon! *heart eyes emoji*

The past couple of months have been quite exciting and made me really look forward to what's to come next this year! In June, I will give you another update on my life, which probably won't be filled with that much exciting stuff as I don't really have anything to do now that school's over but we'll see what happened then! :)

What about you? How's life been for you in the first three months of 2017? x

Cosnature Pomegranate Day & Night Cream

Happy Wednesday everyone! :)

In today's post I have two new skincare products that I want to show you, which are the Cosnature Pomegranate Day & Night Cream*.
Cosnature is an all natural and organic skincare brand, which is something I'm more and more into lately, so I thought these facial creams are right up my street!

I have tried both of them for about two to three days but I then passed them on to my mum because these are so hydrating and nourishing that not even my skin is able to cope with so much moisture!

They smell very nice, though, and also have a very nice consistency because they sink into the skin very quickly. My mum is in love with these as it is perfect for more mature skin, she says.

For her, they're perfect. For me, I think my skin is just not 'old' enough, you know? :P But I'm always glad when I can pass things on to my mum that satisfy her! Especially with skincare products, she gets a bit excited, just like me, ha!

This was my tiny and short review of both the day and night cream from Cosnature! :)

What do you think about all natural and organic skincare/makeup brands? I do really like them actually! x

March Favourites

It's crazy how time flies, I can't believe it's March already! I'm also in the middle of my a-level exams and it's stressing me out SO much, but I think - and hope - it's going to be worth it as I already have a dress for the 'party' we're having in June to celebrate the end of our time in school.

For my favourites this month, however, I have picked quite a few random bits but I just really like them all! :P

Starting with probably the most random thing in here.
Yes, that's a Nintendo. It's the Nintendo DS Lite in pink and I freaking love it. My family and my boyfriend all thought I was joking when I said I ordered a Nintendo on Ebay, but when it arrived they all just stared at me, wondering if I was mentally all right. I mean, it's a freaking amazing console and the games are just as cool! I feel a bit retro using this but I SO don't caaare!

After this random favourite of mine, I want to mention my beloved Garnier Skincare Face Masks. These masks... I have just completely fallen in love with them. They smell divine, they're great for my skin and they're cheap as well (0.75€ each). LOVE THEM!! *heart eyes emoji*

Next up: the Zoella Wonder Hand Cream. Somehow I rediscovered this during March and love it to pieces! I don't go anywhere without it and my hands are actually quite thankful for that; they feel so dry lately and this cream helps a lot!

For beauty bits, I only have two products this month, the Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadow in 91 'Crème De Rose' and the Artdeco Art Couture Nail Lacquer in 978 'Silver Willow'*. Both are absolutely gorgeous products and especially the nail polish is so pretty!

The last three products I want to mention are a lipbalm, a shampoo and a shaving cream. The Moisturising Lip Balm from SLA Paris* is SO good and I absolutely love it! It's so nourishing and hydrating and it's just so much better than any other lip balm I've used before!
This Guhl Shampoo is definitely my most favourite shampoo ever! Every time after washing my hair with this, it looks so much healthier, shinier and thicker that I just want to run my fingers through it all day long!
And last but definitely not least, I want to mention the Balea Pink Grapefruit Shaving Cream. This shaving cream has made shaving my legs - and everything else, duh - SO much more comfortable! I've only used a shaving cream once before and didn't really like it, but when I saw this I just thought I'd give these creams another go and I'm so glad I did! It also smells incredible and makes my skin feel super soft afterwards! Such a good purchase!

What have you been loving during March? x

Blog Photography Tips

I definitely am not the very best when it comes to taking photos, especially when it comes to taking those for my blog. Every photo has to be perfect and it does takes a long time to really get the hang of taking good photos...

Today I want to share my experiences and tips with you on how to take photos for your blog! :) Remember, I'm not an expert and I just want to share the steps I go through when taking these.

If you don't like it, don't use it.
It's as simple as that. And sometimes I did actually upload posts with images I didn't like at all just because I either didn't want to make an effort to take another one or I just couldn't. Yes, with some products or whatsoever I just don't get the hang of taking a photo of it! It's SO annoying! But you have to keep going and try your very best! :) It's time consuming and sometimes nerve wrecking but it's going to be worth it.

Invest in a 50 mm lens.
This has seriously stepped up my photography game by 110%, if I may say so myself. This lens has just changed the way I take photos completely and I enjoy using my camera so much more ever since investing in that lens! I highly recommend using a 50 mm one, especially for product photography!

Look for inspiration and use it.
Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter... There are so many websites out there that give you a huge amount of inspirational sources for your blog photography so make sure to use them! When I first started blogging, I was a bit scared to use tips from other posts because it made me feel like I would actually steal their ideas. But of course you're not stealing them!
Remember: you're always just looking for a new way to change things up a bit and find a new way to make things look pretty and to your liking, not to steal or copy from another creator.

Get yourself some cute props, backgrounds and equipment.
You don't have to spend a fortune to take pretty and appealing images. Have some cardboard and tinfoil? Make a reflector out of it. Recently got a new copper candle holder? Make sure to display it in the background of your images.
It sounds so easy to decorate your images to make them look pretty but it's actually not. You really need to get the hang of it but once you've got that, you'll see that it's so much fun to play around with different objects, colours, etc. :) I've also found it really helpful to use a tripod and a remote for some images as it makes it easier to set up all the general camera settings.

Remember the lighting, aperture, ISO settings.
Of course there's no blog photography post out there without the tips of setting up your camera the right way. You don't have to be an expert to set these things up, you should just make sure to not ignore them completely. A bit of manual control on your camera always helps to make your images look prettier and appealing!

I really hope you've enjoyed reading this post as it was very important to me to getting the message out there that it's not about other people's opinions but about your own. I feel like lots of bloggers/creators just do things for others, not for themselves, you know?

Beauty Wishlist

With my recent declutter and clearing out session, I got rid of a good amount of makeup bits and bobs that just weren't my shade, that I didn't like or that I just never used. Having so much space for some new products now, I already had a look on Feelunique and found some products that I would like to get in the near future...

NARS | Sheer Glow Foundation in 'Siberia' & Radiant Creamy Concealer in 'Vanilla'
I've been dying to get my hands on these two products ever since I was first introduced to NARS as a brand via YouTube and various blogs on the internet! However, I always seemed to be just satisfied with the foundations and concealers I owned that I never really got around to finding a reason to buy these two! I hope I will get my hands on these very soon, though!

Lancôme | Énergie De Vie Liquid Moisturiser
I thought I'd just stock up on this amazing moisturiser by getting the full sized version of this but when I saw the price I knew that it's an investment that has to be well thought about! It is definitely worth the money as I already tried the mini version of this but it's still a lot to pay for a poor student... *silently cries*

QUAI | Dry Shampoo
I have seen Victoria from Inthefrow talk about this dry shampoo in her latest favourites video and I really liked the sound of it and as I'm currently looking for a new dry shampoo, I think I will get my hands on this one and see how I like it!

Burberry | Complete Eye Palette in 12 'Nude Blush' & Liquid Lip Velvet in 17 'Dark Rosewood' & 53 'Oxblood'
Some more pricey makeup products that I've chosen here... But I just couldn't help but fall in love with the shades of the palette and these two Liquid Lip Velvet shades! They are gorgeous! Also, I've been wanting to try some makeup bits from Burberry for quite some time now and I think these products would be great to begin with!

Skincare Favourites #2

I almost forgot writing this post as well.... These exams have me going crazy, I tell you!

In today's post I want to talk to you about my current skincare favourites. You know I love my skincare products but my favourites at the moment have just recently found their way into my collection!

Jurlique | Rose Moisture Plus Moisturising Lotion*
This stuff is truly amazing! It smells incredible, has a very nice consistency and feels amazing on the skin! I also really like that it has a pump on it! It's a very lightweight moisturiser that I like to apply whenever I feel like my skin needs some attention.

Samaya | Ayurvedic Skincare Anti-Ageing Treatment Pitta*
I've been loving the Samaya cleanser already so I was quite sure that I would like this face oil as well! And I do like it a lot! It really helps with the dry areas on my face. However, it doesn't smell that good but I don't really mind as it does what it says :P

Isabelle Lancray | Ilsactivine Beauty Mousse* & Vitamina Vitamined Cocktail Cream*
These two skincare products are just the best I've ever used! Both the Beauty Mousse and the Cocktail Cream have become part of my everyday skincare routine and they definitely made my skin look so much better!

Garnier | Skinactive Face Masks
I've been raving about these face masks ever since I got them and I just love them SO much! They have three or four different masks in this range and I just like all of them!

Sunday Pamper Routine

Nothing beats a good pamper session on a chilled Sunday, am I right? Since my a-level exams are around the corner and all those facts and figures have me going crazy already, I'm always looking forward to the weekend, especially the Sunday!

My pamper session always starts with taking a really long shower in the morning. For that I use the Treaclemoon Marshmallow Heaven Shower Gel and the Zoella Beauty Pretty Polished Sugar Scrub. When I'm done showering, I hop out, wrap myself up in a towel and head back to my room, applying some body lotion and hand cream.

Feeling all clean and soft, I move on to my face. I like to use the Magnitone barefaced! Facial Cleanse Brush* with the Samaya Ayurvedic Hydrating Cleanser Pitta* for giving my skin some extra attention and care and making sure it's all clean and ready for a mask!

The newest additions to my skincare collection are the Garnier Skinactive Aqua and Volcano Masks, which are incredible, and the Jurlique Moisturising Cream Mask*, which I tend to use a bit more often than the Garnier ones because this is really hydrating and nourishing; after using this my skin just looks and feels great!

While waiting for the mask to set, I usually drink a cup of tea and watch some YouTube videos, before taking it off and applying a moisturiser. At the moment, I use a combination of the Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist* and the Isabelle Lancray Vitamina Vitamined Cocktail Cream*. Both of the products are incredible and just amazing for my skin at the moment! Loving them!

Every three to four weeks I also dye my eyebrows as well; just thought I'd quickly mention that here! For that I use the Beautylash Dying Kit for Eyebrows & Lashes.

Always love my little Sunday pamper sessions! They are so relaxing and make me feel great! :)

How To Clean Up Your Beauty Routine In 2017 - Guest Post by Elise Morgan

Similar to getting haircuts and dusting behind the shelves, cleaning up our beauty routine is something we should probably stand to do more often. We all get a little lazy sometimes and stop paying attention to what our skin needs, or we stick to the same beauty routine for years, never thinking that we might need to adjust something. It's time to change that, so here are a few easy tops to help you develop healthier, skin-preserving habits.

Wash your makeup tools
How often do you wash your brushes? For some of you, it's probably been months and while there's no judgement here, you should be aware of the amount of bacteria that gathers around the brushes. All the oil from your face, and the dirt and makeup residue that piles up on the bristles can lead to serious breakouts.

Depending on the type of brush, and how often you use it, you can determine how often you need to wash it. Eyeshadow and blush brushes should be washed every two weeks, or once a month if you want to stretch it, but your foundation brush needs to be washed every few days. The same goes for your beauty blender, which is even more prone to soaking up bacteria, so it wouldn't hurt even if you washed it every day. Use mild shampoo or an unscented soap and wash all your tools in lukewarm water. It doesn't take much time, and you'll really start to notice the difference on your skin.

Take stock and check for expiration dates
Take a good, long look at that bottomless bag that opens into non-dimensional space and holds various, untold horrors. We're talking about your makeup bag, of course, what else? A lot of women keep them stuffed with a ton of products, while only using maybe five to ten things on a regular basis.

Old, funny smelling lipsticks, dried up mascaras, tubes of concealer that started congealing weeks ago - all of these are things you'll never use and are only taking up space. What's even worse, a lot of these things have expired and are by now actually toxic for your skin. This doesn't apply to the makeup bag only, but your medicine cabinet and all the products on your bathroom shelf as well. Take time to examine them closely and throw away all the things that are their due date, smell funny, or things that you just don't need anymore.

Pay attention to ingredients
Instead of just grabbing the first thing that has a colourful bottle and smells nice, make sure to actually read the list of ingredients. A lot of companies will use chemicals that are ineffective at best, and a little harmful at worst. The famous example of this are antibacterial soaps and gels, which usually contain triclosan and triclocarban - chemicals that the FDA has deemed to be potentially risky if you are exposed to them over a longer period of time. No evidence has been found that these antibacterial products do a better job than regular soap and warm water.

Using organic products can be a good idea, especially if you have a sensitive skin, but they still contain various chemicals, so don't be fooled by the marketing. Avoid shampoos which contain sulphate, and always use paraben-free makeup, that, preferably, hasn't been tested on animals. You can always ask a salesperson to help you find the right kind of product.

The no-makeup makeup look
This may sound completely silly, but this look actually does require you to use some makeup. However, its biggest benefit is that you will look natural and fresh when you apply it. Your face will have a clean glow to it which makes this a perfect everyday look because it's very light. Go to a well-stocked makeup store and find a good BB cream first. No need for heavy foundation, but you should use concealer to cover up any blemishes or dark circles. Use and eyebrow pencil to lightly fill in your brows, and then pick a soft, neutral eyeshadow - just enough to bring out your eyes.

Finish off with a coat of mascara, either black or dark brown, and then touch up your cheeks with some blush. When it comes to lipstick you can pick a nude colour, or skip that step entirely and simply use your favourite lip balm. This look is very trendy because it brings out your natural beauty, and it doesn't take much time, so you'll have more to sleep in the morning.

Cleaning up your beauty routine is about paying attention to hygiene and keeping things light. You don't want any pore-clogging products, nothing that will irritate or dry out your skin and hair. Pay attention to products you are using and remember that your skin is your pride and joy - keep it clear and care for it if you want to remain healthy and glowing.

New In Beauty: IsaDora

IsaDora is a brand I've never tried before but when I received a few of their new products, I was beyond excited to try them!
There are four new products that I would like to talk about today as I've already tested them and want to review them here on the blog! Maybe there's the one or other product that you might like as well!

Cover Up Stick 'n Brush Foundation & Concealer SPF 30* - € 24,99
Sadly, this isn't my shade at all... It's way too dark for me :( But the way to apply a foundation in a stick form is incredible! I've never used a foundation stick before but I actually really like it! The consistency and the texture of this is also really nice and lightweight; it feels great on the skin! Still thinking whether to just go for it and pick up the right shade for me or not...

Matt Fixing Blotting Powder* - € 16,99
This is definitely my favourite product out of the selection of new goodies I kindly received! It's the shade 03 'Sheer Nude' and it's perfect for just dusting it all over your face without making your face and makeup look cakey or anything throughout the day!

Ultra Matt Liquid Lipstick* - € 12,99
Having talked about my most favourite product I also want to talk about the product I don't like that much. Sadly, it's this liquid lipstick. The shade - 03 'Posh Pink' - is stunning but the consistency of the product itself is just... bad. It made my lips feel really dry and they looked so chapped when I was wearing this for the first time. Of course I gave it another try because I thought I had just forgotten my lip balm or something but when I tried it again, my lips looked just as terrible.
Really sad that it didn't work out as good as I had hoped!

Caring Cleansing Oil* - € 13,99
Another great product is this cleansing oil, though! I always use a few drops of this on a cotton pad and then remove my makeup with it! It really does work wonders on my skin! It's also great for removing waterproof makeup, especially mascara! Really loving this!

What do you think about these new beauty bits from IsaDora? x

Blippo Kawaii Box + Giveaway

Recently I got the chance to try some cute bits from the Blippo Kawaii Shop and today I'm sharing my thoughts and a little giveaway with you! :)

It took about three weeks until the goodies arrived here and I must say that I was beyond excited, especially about the sweets!
The products I got:
When I saw what I got I was SO excited to try everything! However, with two of them I can't really do anything, to be honest...
The Every Burger Mini Chocolate Cookies aren't much to my taste - sadly - and the Moomin Mini Pouch isn't really my 'style'.
The Korean Deco Glitter Set, though, is so useful as I like to decorate basically anything with glitter lately, ha! And with a pocket mirror, you can't really go wrong, duh!
I would sure love to try some more bits from their website, some of their more girly and cute stuff haha

As for the giveaway, the Blippo Kawaii Shop will send the following three products to the lucky winner!
The giveaway is open to everyone until the 30 March 2017! :)

Shower Gel Favourites

Shower Gels. We all have the one or other one that we absolutely adore and use every single time we take a shower! However, there are some of us that have some more than just one shower gel... Me included, oops.
In today's post I want to show you which shower gels I've been loving recently and why I think they're worth mentioning in a separate post!

Balea | Magic Fairytale and Sweet Wonderland
These two, I got for Christmas from my lovely friend Vanessa got me these two amazing shower gels! The first one - Magic Fairytale - smells of raspberries and magnolias and it's my most favourite smell in shower gels at the moment! I love it SO much! *heart eyes emoji*
The second one is the Sweet Wonderland one which smells of vanilla and roses and at first I wasn't too keen on the smell of this but with using it more often I started loving it!
Both of these smell amazing, like I already said, and they also make my skin so very soft!

Treaclemoon | Marshmallow Heaven and Pretty Rose Hearts
Both of these were Christmas presents as well and I got them from another lovely friend of mine, Andrea.
Treaclemoon shower gels just have the cutest bottles and packaging and they also smell amazing! The small bottles, which I have here, are great for travelling and always go with me whenever I have to pack a bag to go away!

NUXE | Prodigieux Shower Oil
In my post about the NUXE Essentials Set I already mentioned this lovely shower oil. It's actually golden and it smells great! Because it is a shower oil, it's also great for the skin and after using this my skin is SO soft and amazing that I just want to use this every time I take a shower. Sadly, I have used this up after using it like three to four times and I'm still quite sad about it. Buh...

YSL Black Opium

Black Opium had been a fragrance on my wishlist ever since I got the chance to try a sample of this after the GLOW convention. I instantly fell in love with it and had hoped to get it for any special occasion, like Christmas or my brithday.

Luckily, my boyfriend is so lovely, thoughtful and kind that he actually got me this for my birthday in January. I was beyond excited when I opened the present and saw the gorgeous design of the packaging the flacon came in!

According to the website Fragrantica, which I had to have a look at to properly write this post because I suck at describing scents, the top, middle and base notes are:

Top Notes
Pink Pepper
Orange Blossom
Pear

Middle Notes
Coffee
Jasmine
Bitter Almond
Licorice

Base Notes
Vanilla
Patchouli
Cedar
Cashmere Wood

I'm quite sure this is how the scent can be described because all I know for sure is that I absolutely adore it and it's become my staple scent over the past two months!
Everyone always tells me that the fragrance I'm wearing smells incredible and then ask me what it is! It also lasts all day long and to me it's definitely a huge favourite! It always reminds me of the great time I had at the GLOW and of course it reminds me about the great birthday weekend I had with my family and my boyfriend in Berlin!

I highly recommend this to everyone! It's definitely something for you if you're looking for a scent that's more feminine and grown up, I'd say? Yeah, that's about how you can describe Black Opium! :)

Have you tried this fragrance yet? If so, how do you like it? x

Maybelline Cushion Foundation Review

As you may or may not know, Maybelline is one of my favourite high street brands out there and I especially love their foundations!
This new Cushion Foundation was such a great investment! If it was the right shade for me... I got it in 01 Natural Ivory but it's just too yellowy for my skin tone! Such a bummer!!

The two times I applied this, I loved the texture, the finish, the coverage, just everything! It also lasted all day long and didn't feel heavy on the skin at all!

Sadly, it's just not my shade... When I first applied this, everything was great, but after a while it darkened a bit more and my skin looked SO yellow, it made me cringe so hard every time I looked in a mirror!
I gave it a second try though because I thought it was just my skin acting up or something but that definitely wasn't the case.

However, the foundation itself is incredible and I really like everything about it. Well, everything but the range of shades available....

Have you tried this foundation yet? If so, how do you like it? x

Love Is In The Air – 1 Year Anniversary 💕

Today's the day. We've been together for one year already and I still can't believe how lucky I am to have him.
This is not the average blog post, as you can tell. This is going to be some sort of letter to my better half, to show him what I feel and how much I love him. Of course I told him about a million times already and wrote hundreds of letters but posting this online makes it even more special, I think.

It's been the best year of my life so far. I got the chance to meet and love you when I thought nothing would make sense anymore. You got me out of my darkest moments and brightened them to the fullest.
Most of the time, I'm still seeing everything through rose-coloured glasses. Most of the time, you don't, though.
You're realistic and sometimes even a bit brutal when stating your opinion. However, I don't think, no I know, that I've never loved anyone as much as I love you. And I might even go as far as saying I've found my soulmate already.
I know you don't think much of this, you don't let your heart but your head decide when it comes to our relationship.
But I don't care, really. I love you with everything I've got and sometimes it's quite scary. It actually hurts...
I love you more than anything and I hope that nothing will break us apart, no matter how far we're going to be apart after school has ended in summer... It's going to be a really tough time and it definitely won't be the easiest but I hope it's going to be worth it. ♥

So this was my little letter to my better half and tomorrow I'll be back with a "normal" post again! :)

Have a lovely day! x

What's In My Bag 2017

In January last year, I published a What's In My Bag post for the first time on my blog and really liked writing it. Since it's already been over a year and basically everything - or almost everything - has changed in my handbag I thought I should do an updated version of that post!

The bag I'm currently using is a dupe to one of the bags from Chloe, I believe.
At some point in my life, I will be able to get my hands on the real one, I promise! But for now ya'll have to deal with me purchasing things that only look like the ones I would love to get without actually being real...
I always feel like explaining myself when writing about a new product that's actually a dupe for something because I somehow feel bad for not owning the real product...? Does that make sense? I hope so...

Anyways! In my bag I always have my phone (of course, duh), a lipbalm - currently I have a Blistex one in there - and my earphones. These three are basically my essential items.

I also carry around a pen, a case for my contacts, some random polaroid pictures, cinema tickets for Fifty Shades Darker (uhm...), a pair of sunglasses and last but not least my Zoella Beauty Wonder Hand Handcream and the Mini Body Mist from the Sweet Inspirations range which comes in the Secret Scenta Set!

Of course I have a purse with money, cards, etc. as well but somehow I forgot to put it in the photo, oops. But just so you know: I have one and I always have it with me! :)

MAC Lipstick Collection

Lipstiiicks! There's nothing better than using a new and gorgeous lipstick for the very first time, is there? I always get so excited when getting new ones, especially when they're from MAC! *swoon*

Yes, I'm a broke student but I do love a good browse through MAC whenever I get the chance to! Moving to Berlin in summer will probably make my bank account scream for help... haha

However, I do have the one or other MAC product in my makeup collection and the lipsticks are by far my favourite! At the moment I'm in the process of a HUGE clear-out and decluttering session, including my slowly but surely growing collection of makeup.
From the four MAC lipsticks I have in this post, I sold one, which is 'Twig'. I only ever used it once to swatch on the back of my hand and then rarely used it again! So I thought that someone else would be happy to get their hands on this lipstick!

Anyway! The three remaining ones in my current MAC lipstick collection are all matte ones, because I just like those the best! They stay on for so long, their colour pay-off is amazing and they just look great in general!

As you can tell by the shape of the first one, which is 'Velvet Teddy', I do really love that shade. It was my first ever MAC product and ever since then I use it regularly!
The second and third one were both presents I got for my birthday two months ago; 'Whirl' and 'Sin'. Both shades I've been wanting to get my hands on for such a long time!

Owning a few MAC lipsticks, I can only recommend investing in these; they're so worth the money!

Brand Focus: Maybelline

Maybelline. Definitely one of my most favourite high street brands ever! My first mascara was actually from Maybelline and ever since then I always went back to buying their products. Until now, I think I've never been disappointed with any product that I've purchased from them and that rarely happens with brands for me!

The best products from Maybelline are their mascaras, in my opinion! So far, I've loved each and every one of those and they always excite and satisfy me even more whenever there are new ones out! Sounds so weird but I hope you know what I'm trying to say, ha!

Their other products, like their foundations, concealers, lipsticks, etc. are great as well and in the photo above you can see my all time favourites from Maybelline!
I did have some nail polishes as well but when I had a complete 'room clear out and declutter session' the other week, I found the nail polishes all dried up and disgusting. I was quite sad about that because I also really like their nail polishes! Time to get some new ones then! :P

As you can probably tell by now, Maybelline is definitely my favourite high street brand (besides Catrice, of course) and I can only recommend their products!

How To: Loose Curls

Having curls is definitely my favourite! In one of my posts about how I curl my hair, I told you about the Remington curling wand I always use for creating my favourite hairstyle. With that wand, however, the curls are quite tight and neat and that's not always the look I want to go for.

With the TYME Styling Iron* that I'm talking about today, I can create some loose and soft curls that do need some training and effort before you really know how to create them but they're totally worth it!

The TYME has two gold mirrors on the inside, the on and off button below one of them and two guidelines at the sides. Those guidelines must always be against your head, no matter which side of your head you're working on.

When you've chosen a strand of hair that you want to curl, you place the guidelines against your head, being able to read 'TYME' in the mirror in front of you, curling the iron towards it. You only need very little pressure when pulling the iron up towards the ceiling.

I really had to get used to this type of styling iron and when I finally got around to the right technique, pressure, direction, thickness of the piece of hair to use, etc. I started using this almost every day!

It's made such a difference in my styling routine, it's incredible! Another thing I quickly want to mention is that you cannot only curl your hair with this but you can also straighten it! I rarely use it for straightening, though, I think it's great to have two styling tools in one!

Have you heard of the TYME Styling Iron before or do you actually use it yourself? x

Everyday Morning Routine

A few weeks ago I already talked about my everyday night time routine here on the blog. So I thought it was about time to share my everyday morning routine with you to complete the set of routines in my beauty section!

My alarm always goes off at 5:40 in the morning... Which is way too early for me so I stay in bed until 6:10 before really starting my day!
Every other day, I also wash my hair before getting dressed and heading back to my makeup table.

Prepping my face for the day ahead, I use the Skin Chemists Rose Quartz Facial Oil* and the Lancôme Énergie de Vie before moving on to my Catrice Cosmetics Liquid Camouflage Concealer. Most of the time I don't use a foundation because I feel like my skin looks quite good lately so I just cover up a few spots and the redness on my nose.

There are also some of my favourite makeup products in here as well! The Essence Make Me Brow Eyebrow Gel Mascara in 01 Blondy Brows, the L'Oreal Miss Hippie Mascara and the Mary-Lou Manizer, which I love to apply with the Jessup Tapered Highlighting Brush*.

After my face and makeup are done, I put on my absolute favourite fragrance: YSL Black Opium. But not too much, just one spritz. It's just too expensive to do more than one! haha

And then I'm ready to go! Of course I always have breakfast before going to school but that only consists of a toast or some cereals.

What does your average morning look like? x

La Petite Box February 2017

First of all I want to quickly mention that I am absolutely in love with my 50 mm lens! It's by far the best investment I've made (for my blog) so far! How do you like this photo? :) I'm actually kind of happy with it, yay!

Anyways! For today's post I want to talk to you about this lovely lifestyle subscription box: La Petite Box*! This box is open to subscribe to if you're from Germany, Switzerland or Austria only. I was kindly sent the February issue of this box and I really like it! The box was called 'Bad Romance' and the products that were in it are amazing!
There was a total of seven products including

  • KMS California Free Shape 2-in-1 Styling + Finishing Spray
  • KMS California Free Shape Quick Dry Spray
  • Alessandro Nail Polish in 'Velvet Red'
  • Bronx Colours Just Matte Lipstick
  • Virgule Saddle Bag in 'Red'
  • Sinnreich Magazine
  • Schlumberger White Secco

The last product I already gave to some of my friends because I don't drink any alcohol as you may or may not know. The rest of the products, however, I did keep all for myself and I'm absolutely loving every single one of them! Especially the bag is just gorgeous and definitely something that was missing in my handbag collection!

La Petite Box is really not the cheapest lifestyle box out there with 86€ for one box but getting one as a present or a surprise for a special occasion would be lovely! It is not only a beauty, but also a fashion, food/drinks, lifestyle and health box. They try to cover every category every month under a special topic, which was 'Bad Romance' in February!

I really am happy and thankful that I got to try one of their boxes and will keep you updated with some more information about the products!
