The Concealer Breakdown

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you've had a lovely weekend!

Today I have a bit of a different post for you. When it comes to makeup products, concealers are up there with my essentials and I can't imagine my everyday makeup routine without having a concealer in it!

That's why I wanted to do a Concealer Breakdown for you guys here on the blog where I talk about the coverage, the longevity, the application and some more details of each and every concealer I currently own and use regularly.

Down below I have listed all the concealers with their full name, shade, brand and the price at which I bought them and the link to where to find them. Maybe your favourite is in here as well!

Tarte Shape Tape Contour Concealer in 'Fair Neutral' - 24€
The Tarte Shape Tape is by far my favourite at the moment! It has a high to very high coverage and lasts very long as well. It's perfect for covering red spots or any blemishes on the face and it covers dark circles as well! The product itself is very easy to blend, especially with a damp makeup sponge, but be careful with applying the right amount of product to your face as it can be easily overdone! This concealer doesn't move around throughout the day and doesn't crease either!

MAC Pro Longwear Concealer in 'NC15' - 23€
Together with the Tarte concealer, my MAC Pro Longwear concealer is one of the best concealers I've tried so far! It has a medium to high coverage, which can easily be build up with using your fingers to blend instead of a makeup sponge! It also lasts very long on the skin and only creases a little on the sides of my nose but I think that's because my nose is quite oily throughout the day.

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in 'Chantilly' - 27.60€
Some people love this, some people hate this and some people think it's alright. I'm one of those who think this concealer is okay. It has a light to medium coverage and it's easy to blend but something about it - and I can't quite make up what it is - is just not for me. I do like to use this occasionally but if I didn't have this in my collection I wouldn't be bothered either.

Catrice Cosmetics Liquid Camouflage in 005 'Light Natural' - 3.45€
My beloved highstreet concealer! It's definitely the best concealer when on a budget and it has a high to very high coverage, almost comparable to the Tarte concealer! I prefer applying this with my fingers as I think I get more coverage that way! It covers any blemishes and redness very well but it doesn't last as long as I would like it to. It does crease a little underneath the eyes and on the sides of my nose but it's nothing a little touch up can't fix!

Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer in 'Fair Neutral' - 26.99€
With this concealer it's the same as with the NARS one, I believe. Again, I'm one of those who think that the concealer is alright but not a necessity in my makeup collection. It has a medium coverage, which lasts surprisingly long and looks almost perfect all day long when applied! The thing that bothers me with this is the coverage as I do need a high to very high coverage when it comes to concealers. You can build up the coverage, though, it does take a while as you need a few layers before it covers very prominent and noticeable blemishes or spots!

Catrice Cosmetics Camouflage Cream in 010 'Ivory' - 2.95€
This is the cream version of the Liquid Camouflage concealer from Catrice Cosmetics and it is definitely not as amazing as the liquid formula, in my opinion! However, it's amazing to cover very red noticeable spots or very dark blemishes and it also lasts very long! I wish, though, that there was an even lighter shade in the range because the shades oxidise throughout the day, which is very annoying!

Manhattan 3 in 1 Easy Match Concealer in 010 'Porcelain' - 5.45€
The last concealer I want to talk about is one from Manhattan, which has a light to medium coverage and also has a brush applicator underneath the cap. It's great for a very minimal makeup look when you just want to apply a bit of concealer and maybe a bit of mascara. For me, it's only useful for covering light spots and light blemishes as it doesn't really cover severe redness or very dark circles. This is the perfect light coverage concealer though!

What's your go-to concealer at the moment? x

Let's get in touch!
